I typed a post in all caps, and the forum converted it to first letter capitalized and the rest lowercase. New feature?

Maybe newly enabled, but it's been a feature in vBulletin for awhile now.

There's a setting to "prevent shouting" (that's what they call it). When enabled, it does as you described ... preventing a post from being all capital letters.

At my wife's school, someone had told her Principal that typing in caps was shouting. He took that to mean he couldn't use any capital letters at all, so all his e-mails looked like e. e. cummings wrote them. It took my wife a couple of years to convince him that he'd misunderstood.

Yeah, I found that out the hard way when I tried to spell C I A (without the spaces) in another thread and it looked like I was having a seizure.
