Ok, bravery could be defined as a lack of knowing better. My legs still burning from Monday at Brushy Creek, back when I was innocent, Firstman and I headed up to Red River. Having taken a cadre of amino supplements and potassium pills I figured after the "warm up" I would be ready to go! About 10 months ago I came out here and rode Firstman's 200 EXC in very limited gear and didn't have any issues other than my combat boots falling apart. It was fun and not as challenging as Brushy Creek was. Now I keep hearing "Infamous Red River" and "Red Bull Last Man Standing" and like many a freshman I thought that I'd seen something in my time... welll the last three hours were a bit like the Blair Witch Project! See before I rode the main rode and a couple of pretty easy side trails, since I didn't have a camel back and it was August I didn't really ride too much because of insane thirst. So my experience here was WAY underrated.

I've had a blast so far and going down a few times has taken much of the fear of going down. Low speed stuff and nothing hurt and other than my foot turning in a very unusual direction I haven't been worried. The trails we've been on thus far are gorgeous and a lot of fun. I've been up a couple pretty awesome hillclimbs (not the Joshua Tree insanity but still they were pretty long and fun. We out and rode for about 3 hours and Firstman is already out there again. I needed a break and a moment to do my IV treatment so I figured this was a good time to post a mid ride ride report. Now I am all the more excited for the 17th and 18th ride, spending the weekend out here will be fantastic! That should give me just about enough time to recover and have the ability to sit and stand again!

Another cool thing is that my Sprint Broadband card is working really well out here (which is how I am bringing you this report, sponsored by the letter "ouch")

Glad we could ride with you guys even if it was just for as little bit. Jeff and I had to leave early so we needed to get on it to get as much riding in as possible before bail out time.

See ya in Nov.

Photojojo - it was good meeting up with you all! Firstman rode another three hours, I rode about another hour. It was definately an excellent time and I can't wait until the 17th. I was beat by the end of the ride, completely bonking and barely able to lift my arms over my head! I have a long way to go but nothings too far when you enjoy it that much!

We didn't stop very much so I only took one picture. This one is at the waterfall.

Did you know that at the LMS race last year, those guys had to go UP that water fall. It was part of the track. Oh yeah, it just kills me that I didn't get to ride with you guys yesterday.

Mark has some video for you all whenever he gets around to editing it. There is a total of 2 hours of video, so he needs to find 3 minutes of good stuff in there.

I will need to go through the whole thing, like Adam said there is a lot of video but a lot of it would give you vertigo since it's a camera attached to the head of man who has ADD. :lol2:
