Count me in on this one! Good thing about it is won't need the GPS or a map since I drive to Mineola every week to pick up dogs and cats to be spayed/neutered at the clinic I work for!! Always wanted to stop there and try the pie!:eat:

I'm planning on being there. It's almost walking distance from here. Well, maybe not actually WALKING distance...
Pine Mills? It doesn't exist. It's only a road sign and a pottery wheel in someone's barn. Oh, and there's a catfish "restaurant" in a house that's only open Friday and Saturday evenings. If you've missed those two places, you've been through "Pine Mills" and didn't even know it.

Well..., I almost never say I'm definite for anything, but I went out on a limb and said I was a definite for this one. I guess that must have angered the gods. We have some high-dollar consultants from both Oracle and SAP on-site today to help us with some performance issues and I'm going to be stuck working late. Take me off the list.

I am looking at a route for Susan (tortuga) and myself that hits two courthouses (Kaufman and Canton) on the way to Mineola. Nothing special, but probably:
Stage at Minyard in SW Arlington (usual place)
US287 to Ennis
SH34 to Kaufman (stop for pics)
SH 243 to Canton (stop for pics)
a hitch on SH64 to get to FM1255
FM1255 to US80
US80 to the Burger Place (129 miles)
We have some personal locations to hit on the way back, probably a few more courthouses (Longview, Henderson, Tyler, Athens) plus we have to find Pine Mills.
Looking at leaving the Minyards at 8:00 AM sharp (or close to it). ;-)
Probably an innocent looking, law-abiding, non-attention-getting pace for us old folks... :-P

Ninjette and I will be there. Terrebandit, we might try to hook up for your post-pie guided tour. From here to there I'm looking at FM 1252 at least as far as Hwy 271 or 155, then north-northwest somewhere toward Mineola, maybe on FM 1001 (1002?)

Um, Lee, back in post #24, you requestd to be taken OFF the list due to angering the Pie Gods or something...
However, I was hoping things would change and you would return with a vengence - looks like that happened! :lol2:

As a matter of fact, I did, on the way to canoe the Sabine River near Jasper. It's a very nice park. Quite pretty.
Gary, Debbie and I may make this Saturday and would enjoy your company on the way down. I never go directly anywhere on a bike, so we would need to leave a little early. I'll call by Friday.

Rick, our route is back in post #31 - not very exciting but you are welcome to join us. Leaving the Minyard at I20 and Green Oaks (exit 445) at or about 8 AM.
-------
Also, I'll have some DVDs and CDs (PC programs) with the "Everywhere Texas" slideshow on them if anyone is interested (and maybe had trouble downloading). They are free if you don't know what it is and need something to watch for about 6 minutes... :trust:
