A Lufkin pastor died Saturday afternoon from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle motorcycle accident that occurred on U.S. Highway 59, 1.2 miles north of Seven Oaks in Polk County, according to a Department of Public Safety report.
Jerry Lee Mashburn, 57, was pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m. at Livingston Memorial Hospital following the accident, which occured at 3:55 p.m., the report stated.
Mashburn was riding a 1987 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound when the vehicle left the highway and overturned. There was no information in the report that indicated why the vehicle left the roadway. Mashburn was wearing a helmet.
Mashburn was pastor of Lufkin Family Worship Center, according to the church's Web site.
