OK, new rider here, well, relatively new. Been riding streetbikes all my life, rode a TTR125 last year for several outings, just to make sure I "could", I think I handled it really well. I just picked up an 05' CRF230F, and my buddy rides a TTR225, and his son a KX65. Anyway, all (3) of us are relatively new to riding, but we really don't know "where" we can go around here. We'd like to plan an outing, just a weekend, overnight maybe a day or two, get there Friday, leave Sunday kinda scenario. Here are the "must haves" for the location.

1.) Trail riding - intermediate would be fine, nothing too serious.
2.) Camping - have an 18' RV and will need electricity, water a plus!
3.) A lake to fish! We are avid fisherman and want to wet a line or two!

So, where in North Central Texas can I find such a place? Am I asking too much or do places like this exist? We both live near Dallas, would like something with 200 miles! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks TWT!!!!

Well for riding in the North Texas area it doesn't get much better than Red River. But they don't have electrical hookups, or water..... And a lake to fish at.... welllllll.....

Hey, I did say it was the place to go for "riding"....:lol2:

Sam Houston NF has lots of fishing possibilities, more than twice as many miles of trails than any cycle park I'm aware of, is beginner friendly, has lots of camping opportunities, and costs much less to ride than any cycle park. It's a little bit of a drive from DFW though.

Crooked creek near Waco has some great beginner friendly trails and a pond near the front of the property and a lake that I recall riding by... don't know if they (the tanks) have fish, but they were full when I was there 2 weeks ago. They also have camping.

Sam Houston National Forest is only 190 miles from dallas. Cherokee Cycle Park is less than 200 miles from dallas. Barnwell Mountain is just to the east of dallas and north of Marshall.
