I liked this book. It was well put together as a good primer on the subject of cornering, at least for me, but then I am not a cornering expert. I have not been to a cornering school.

I particularly enjoyed his philosophy on training and overcoming “fear” to improve one’s performance. His description to "fear" reactions are right on target, and he does recognize that training circumvents typical flight or fight reactions when faced with "fear". He also talks about the importance of fitness in the sport of motorcycling, which is something I advocate heavily. He mentions a few of the weight training exercises that I incorporate into my own routine that are of particular benefit to motorcyclists.

I suggest that this is a good book as an introduction to the subject, but I would not use a book like this as a how-to manual. Instead, I would use it to validate my own interest in the subject and then attend the clinic developed by the author. See the link http://www.totalcontroltraining.net/index.html The book will probably be more valuable to me after attending his clinic. Unfortunately there are no schools in Texas. This gives one an excuse to ride cross-country or to perhaps trailer it to one of the locations. I am clearly interested in this clinic after reading this book, and will attend this course prior to any considerations of going to a track school. It is a 1-day school.

This is one book I will keep.

Cheers,

Mike
