The V-Strom has been in the local shop for almost a month and a half with a throttle problem, mostly waiting on a TPS to arrive in all the Christmas mailing season.

This period coincides with the best weather we've had in Houston for a long time. Bike in shop=cool, clear days. Voodoo Weather Control? I report, you decide.

Also, during this time I took almost two weeks off from work for the first time in years. I spent the vacation days sitting inside watching movies on tv, playing stupid video games and expanding my waistline, as well as cursing the Fates and the sons of Nippon who built this motorcycle.

I'm expecting the worst next week."Sorry, we don't have the resources to solve this problem," is what I expect to hear from this excellent, independent shop. I need a dealer, I'm afraid (very afraid).

So, where do I go near Houston? Richmond? Any suggestions for a good Suzuki shop would be appreciated.

First off, you need help. You start by calling the ones you want to help you names and impying that they steal from you. That is not a very good way to get someone to help you. I heard somewhere that you get more help by being nice and polite than the other way.

 Yeah. HELP!

I'd heard the term, maybe on this site, and I did have a comical experience with a dealer's tech dept once. I was trying to be humorous:mistake.:headbang:

I really wanted the small, local shop to be able to fix the "little" problem the bike was having. Now, I see that a dealer might have more access to information or tools or something, maybe had seen the problem before and worked out a solution.

You're upset because he said "stealership"? That's like me getting upset when people say "Wally World".
