Yeah Willie, rub it in. You don't miss California because you're in an even more beautiful place, based on pictures I've seen. Lucky *** :rider: I have to ride 250 miles to see a mountain higher than about 50 feet, unless you count "MT. Trashmore" in Virginia Beach, a man-made mountain of garbage, sanitized enough to put a playground on. My kids don't play there, but some do.

i grew up in lafayette louisiana, proudly cajun, but now live on the edge of the mojave desert, north of los angeles Ca USA.
about 15 min west of el bandito, on the edge of elizabeth lake.

i tried to find a pic that showed the area. this is more like acton, a town close by, but shows what its like out here, away from my desk in my room

hard to see, but the white sticks are windmills, looking north to tehachapi.

Stinky, this thread is in the Bandit section even though it shows up on the new posts list. I asked the question because GregH's original Bandit review thread has literally drawn Bandit riders from all over the world to TWT in the last year or so. SO I was just curious where they are all from.

pacman

I share in stinky's curiosity. It really is an quite phenomenal that TWTEX has become a gathering point for Bandit riders from all over the country (world?) Is there not a Bandit specific forum? Not that I mind you folks being here at all. On the contrary, I think it's really cool that our circle extends out so far. :thumb:

There are actually two good ones.... they have been mentioned several times in the main thread - some members here are members there as well. In case any one missed them....

MAXIMUM SUZUKI (http://maximum-suzuki.com/forums/) - although they do more than just Bandits. (Must register to view)

BANDIT ALLY (http://forums.banditalley.net/) - Lots of good folks there and a well run forum (IMHO) :trust:

Toronto eh?

Isn't RUSH from Toronto? Neil Peart's BMW will be on display with a ton of other celebrity bikes here at the AMA museum starting in a month or so and will last two years. Jay Leno and others are set to have bikes there as well.

Toronto....

I had dinner at the top of some needle looking thing a couple years back that spun around at 1RPH. Airplanes from Toronto City Center Airport were flying "below" us in the pattern and heli's were hovering at our window - darn cool.

Yea, Peart's a moto guy, I think he did a huge trip around the U.S. or something a few years back...?

Wow, you must have gotten the royal treatment! Usually you can just see cloud cover in every direction. But I haven't been up the tower since they started flying the larger commuter planes in and out of the downtown airport. In the 80's there was a disco called "Sparkles" above the rotating restaurant. 8-)

[QUOTE=]Yea, Peart's a moto guy, I think he did a huge trip around the U.S. or something a few years back...?

He has written a couple of books about his riding adventures.
My favorite is "Ghost Rider".
In this book he deals with the losses of his daughter and then his wife, within 1 year, by doing the only thing he can think of-jumping on his bike and riding all over North America.
Quite an interesting read.
