Looked at Twisted Throttle and Givi for a top rack and trunk but sites are confusing on what is appropriate for the Bandit 1250S,has anyone tried any other racks and trunks?? Would like the large capacity like the E460 by Monokey, but not possitive yet. Any assistance is very much appreciated. By the way this is my first post here and even though I don't live in Texas I have enjoyed this forum, you guys have some great posts with alot of detailed info. Thanks, Jim from Florida :rider:

Welcome FroggyBandit. Lots of really great folks here and you'll get a detailed answer in short order, I'm sure. I looked quickly around because I've seen details on what you're asking. I have a sickening feeling much of it could be buried in the bowels of the thread from **** "The 2007 Suzuki Bandit 1250S"

Whereabouts in Fla? Stationed in Key West for three years, and spent 3 in King's Bay, Ga., which is basically Florida.

Hello Froggy:

I went with the matte black Givi setup:

2-E360 side/tops bags
1-E460 top bag
plus the Givi side rack and top mount
D262 Givi Windshield

Contact Craig at GiviUSA at info@GiviUSA.com for dealers and details.

I like this a lot and the quality is great. Some, like KenB and others, have gone for the painted hi-gloss versions - looked very cool.

Here's mine.

I just went through the same delimma. I waffled between getting the SW Motech rack:

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/ezimagecatalogue/catalogue/variations/1688-350x350.jpg

or getting the Suzuki OEM rack:

Mounted:

(I stole KenB's images...)

Wound up getting the Suzuki OEM rack from www.everythingsuzuki.com for $170, and a Givi knock-off truck from JC Whitney (http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Search?catalogId=10111&storeId=10101&sku=zxe20997G) for $50 shipped.

This thread over on MaxSuk details how to get the large, 45L trunk for $46.99:

http://www.maximum-suzuki.com/forums/index.php/topic,64003.0.html

The Suzuki branded Givi trunk, as seen in the 2nd image, is ~$200, and an equal size plain Givi trunk, as seen in PhilS's pics, is just a little less, so I figure for 1/4 the cost, I'll take the gamble on the knock-off... hope it doesn't come back to bite me.

So, for a little over $200, I should be good to go. I'm installing the rack tomorrow, and the trunk should be arrive tomorrow, I'll post up pics when it gets here and installed.

Jim - I'm envious of your stable! I've always longed to ride a VTX 1300. I still have a soft spot in my heart for cruisers (former Vulcan and Magna owner) but my lower back just won't tolerate the feet-forward riding position.

Phil - that's the exact picture that started me on the hunt for luggage. Your bike is simply gorgeous. And if I hadn't been **** bent on ABS, I would have that red Bandit in a hearbeat! Darn you Suzuki!

Thanks Ken - I may cry.......:tears:
Ok, back to manliness now.

Greg.....another vote for Red!! WooHooo!!

Trey - thanks for the JCWhitney link. I used JCW back in the 80's for motorcycle tires and got burned with some "impossible to balance" Chen Shengs - I was cheap in the wallet, they were cheap in the tires, I locked JCW in my memory as a crap outlet.....but that trunk looks pretty darn nice. I may give them another look,

Please post pics, because as you know, we believe nothing without them.

Froggy - The one thing I do like about the E360/E460 combo, is that I can run with just the E360 case on top and leave the other two cases at home and I have a case that holds my full face helmet and jacket and it's not too big for day trips looking like a Gold Wing.....

WOW this is why I love this forum such great responses overnight, Thanks for all the info. I will check out everything when I sign Out. I am in Reddick,FL. which is halfway between Ocala and Gainesville in North central Fl. I am from Miami originally, I decided to leave before it was too late. I like my 1300 but when you need that instant response to keep from getting run off the road by that drifting Semi, the Bandit comes in handy, I got mine in July 07 and have 8,300 miles so far. Thanks again for all the info. DID I ALREADY SAY WWWWOOOWWW. You can add another one to loving that Red Bandit, awesome pics.

There's a link to someone w/ a B12 that mounted one. I searched and searched and came up with everything from "You can't tell it's not Givi" to "It shattered as soon as I opened it the 1st time" so... Seems JCW used to use a different manufacturer that was poorer quality w/ a bad mounting plate. These new ones are supposed to be better... we'll see.

I'm really hoping mine arrives today, but we'll see. USPS tracking is incredibly sketchy.... My plan is to head out and do the sisters tomorrow, so I'd like to be able to road test it.

I'll post pics when I can.

If you type "bestem" in the ebay search engine they have top trunks for $59 with mounting plate that a lot of the guys on the ST 1300 forum use on their bikes. The company is out of Atlanta and the ST riders are pretty happy with them as far as quality and delivery goes.

I have the SW motech rack and 46L GIVI case. No real world testing, but I have no worries. The GIVI has been through the elements and loaded heavy, this rack mount is not the most robust, but I think should be fine.
