Howdy,

:tab As was suggested on another forum I frequent and due to the overwhelming positive feedback, I will be doing a ride that is geared toward riders that are relatively new to the sport and may be concerned about trying to hang with a fast group. The focus of this ride will be riding as a group, street smart skills to keep you alive, understanding why the bike does what it does and how to use that to your advantage, and steps to take to improve overall riding skills and confidence. It will be about a 200 mile ride on some nearby backroads in East Texas. There is usually very little traffic. The curves are all nice sweepers and nothing nasty. The pace will be very relaxed and there will be frequent stops for chatting about the ride.

:tab If you are interested in attending, please let me know so I can be expecting you. We will be leaving from my home in Huntsville at 10:00am Saturday morning, June 7th.

I hope to see some of you there!

I'll probably be there. Have to double-check the calendar, but I think I can make it. :)

Howdy,

I would like to go, but I have something to attend around 3 or 4 PM in the Woodlands. Do you have a guesstimate of how long the ride will be? If it is 4 to 5 hours I can probably make it.

Howdy Scott

Is the newbie ride still on? I know that there is a lot of uncertainty about tomorrow but, I'm still planning on coming. I'm looking forward to learning new things and to meet one and all.

See tomorrow.

The ride is on. Sorry for the late reply, I just got back into town Late this evening (Friday). Ideally, the ride will last until about 4:00-5:00pm. By the time we get everyone on the road, get everyone back on the bikes after gas stops, etc,... the rides take longer.

I just realized this was today. ARGH! I overslept and missed it. Oh well - if you make an email list - racerpoet at hotmail.com and let me know about the next one!

I never did get around to doing a ride report for this ride. Here are some pics taken by Quang Dam.

Thanks for the ride. I enjoyed it a lot.
Since I don't know other folks' email addresses, please forward the links if
you can.
