If the KLR needed a radar mount :lol2:

I cut up a 8.5x11 cutting board into 5 pieces for my radar mount and bought RAM parts to mount it all, counter sink the bolts and all is good. I have 4 left if anyone wants a crude, but effective mount for whatever floats their boat. Also have another board if more are wanted. FYI, the boards are $2 at walmart and a wood blade on a jig at slow speeds cuts it well and does not melt it. A table saw would be the cat's meow, but I didn't want to run to my brother in laws for 5 small cuts. If my semi off cots bug me after a while, I will make a new one.

Take one of the extras, drill a hole in the corner, and run a piece of cord through it. Instant kickstand plate for uncertain parking lots! The string gets a loop on the end so you can hook it to something, then when you throw a leg over you can yank it back up and store it in the tank bag.

Very nice setup. Are there any weather proofing issues with that satellite radio box?

If it rains more than a heavy sprinkle, radar and XM go in the bag. I should slow down anyway right? Unsure I will use XM or not, I need to order mounts and see how i like the sound.

What do you run the XM signal through? I have the 1st gen of that unit and I have to tune my stereo to an FM channel. I also have it mounted on the right hand side and control it with the remote:mrgreen:

hoping an FM signal from my MP3 will work. All new to me on a bike and really starting to think it's not needed. But i have some LOOOONG trips planned this year is why I might try it once.
