2008 Texas Adventure Ride - Attendance List

I did this for Uncle's Ride the Rio and figured it would be nice to know who from TWT was going to the Texas Adventure Ride. The Best Western still has limited rooms open for TAR weekend. Stayed there last year very nice rooms with hot breakfast. Trailer parking

If you had seen her last Friday night you would know - she has a cast on her leg from surgery on Tuesday, so no riding for a while. She has a thread about it - I did a quick look and didn't find it right away. :shrug:

I will be camping- just called the Junction City Hall and rented ($105 + $50 Deposit)the pavilion in the park for camping- they stated since we rented the pavilion they will also open up the showers for us.
suggesting a fee of $10 per Tent camper for the weekend- if there is a profit, will donate it back to TAR, TWT or a local Charity .

Work related obligation on Thursday evening... I will have to ride out there Friday early in the morning to be in Junction about 8:00 am

Considering the "deer activity" during dusk hours, I thought it would be safer to ride with a buddy at that time.

Anybody else in my shoes, willing to ride together?

I'll be there. My wife will be coming this time- she thinks I had too much fun last year and at Uncles Ride the Rio to have really been riding. We'll be there Saturday Am. If Possible please put us down for a XL and Med T shirt and a program and I promise to register early next time. This will be her first time doing any extended dirt riding -- any suggestions for a fun but relatively non intimidating route ?

There will be a rider's meeting Sat morning, 8 a.m., in the side parking lot of Isaak's Restaurant. If you & the wife can make the rider's meeting you should be able to get a recommendation or two on a suitable route.

Yep, I thought about getting names from the main thread too, but figured I'd get the people that were sure they were going this way. The rider formerly known as Txmedic was going to go, but I believe he's out now. And TexasShadow was almost out. So I think it's best that I just wait till folks post here.

Also, there are people that don't post here that are coming. I know I started a thread on the Texas Offroad network that seems to have drawn a couple. There is a post on ADVrider too, but there is a lot of overlap with the TWT dualsport riders and ADVrider. I also know of a guy that is looking for a bike as I type and really wants to come. He's just a lurker here and knows some of the riders coming. So there are other folks that will be there.

I made my '08 hotel reservation as soon as I got home last year.
I think I'll be riding to Langtry (towing bikes to/from Caverns of Sonora) on Sat with John D. My husband may be there Friday, which will keep me on pavement, as he is only riding street these days. If he doesn't come, Friday will probably be an easy ride, because Sat will be a looong day.
On page 39 in this year's ride guide, there is a photo of Acker Rd. Does anyone know which ride # this road is on?
