Springtime Hodges Gardens Tours (Mar/Apr)

Howdy,

:tab Every Spring, I lead two tours out through East Texas just over into Louisiana to visit Hodges Gardens. The Gardens are the largest private botannical gardens in the country. If you like Springtime blooms, this is the place to be. The first tour will be in late March when the Dogwoods and Tulips are blooming.

The registration deadline has passed for the March tour. If you are interested in attending, please let me know and I will see if I can still get additional rooms.

The second tour will be in early April when the Azaleas, Bluebonnets and Roses are blooming.

The registration deadline for the April tour is March 18th. If after that date you are still interested in attending, please let me know and I will see if I can still get additional rooms.

:tab Both tours will start here in Huntsville at our home on Saturday morning. We will ride out to the Gardens and spend the night at a local hotel. We will ride back Sunday and should arrive back in Huntsville by early evening. It is about 250 miles of riding each day.

I would like to go to at least one myself. Hey Squeaky, wanna share a room? :lol: I've gone as a passenger in the past & can definitely vouch for the beautiful flowers. Now I'm ready to ride up there myself.

I will be cancelling the outstanding rooms later today (Mon). So if you are on the fence about this ride, please let me know if you still want to go. There is still time for the April ride however.

Howdy,

The remaining rooms have been dropped. Anyone wanting to go now will be subject to whatever rooms the hotel might still have available. This is the ONLY hotel within about 15 miles of the Gardens. The clerk informed me that the Dogwoods and Azaleas are all blooming. So this should be a fantastic weekend for the ride as long as the weather is decent!

:tab The Azaleas will be in full bloom. They were covered in tons of buds this last weekend. Many of the roses were in bloom already as well. So this next ride should be really awesome!

I am so close to getting the OK on this one from the wife (the only hold up at this point is finding a way for her to get there as well she won't ride it and doesn't want to cage it alone). Ialso have two others I am trying to get to join in and one is a real possibility...

Scott, if you haven't recieved my registration and money order yet, it should be in your mail today. Looks like the weather will be awesome this weekend. What time do you plan on leaving Saturday AM?

:tab Klaus, got it yesterday. You need to be at our place by 9:30am for the pre-ride briefing. Kickstands up at 10:00am. Lunch around 1-2pm depending on our pace. We should be at the Gardens by 4:30ish. Dinner around 7:00pm. We head back Sunday morning around 9-10am depending on when people want to get going. Back in Huntsville around 5:00pm.
