I saw this over in the Texas section on Cycle Forums and thought it was a pretty good link.

Link 1 - National Weather Service Forecast
Link 2 - Meteorological Products Processed At The NWSTG

Great Weather Forcast Tool
Attached is a link to a progam that a pilot friend put together to make looking for weather focasts a little easier.

The only limitation to using the program is that you need to know the ICO identifier for the nearest airport. Below are the identifiers for airports near the 4 most commonly visited racetracks.

KFTS - Fort Worth - Cresson (Motor Sports Ranch)
KTXK - Texarkana - Henderson (Oak Hill)
KTUL - Tulsa, OK - (Hallett)
KCLL - Easterwood - College Station (TWS)

For Austin you can use KAUS or KGTU and for San Antonio you can use KSAT or whatever airport is closest to you.

Here is another link that somoene posted which has the search utility for the weather reporting stations.

And for anyone who wants to look up other locations :

You can just choose to display all stations in a state and that will give you a city list with the codes.

And if you're a detailed weather freak you can take a class to become a certified Skywarn weather spotter. I did this on Thu night and it was pretty interesting. Learned some new things about storm formation, tornados, etc.

I work for Continental Airlines as a aircraft dispatcher and read more weather stuff via our sources and the internet than should be legal. What I find the best source of information is to link here:

Click on your state, find your local forecast discussion page and read what the forecasters are talking about and not what the public information has. Once you get around to understanding just what the heck the forecasters are talking about, you can really do some planning for rides.
Also a plug for my professional group.

They have a link to weather sources from all over the world and I mean all over. http://www.dispatcher.org/wx.php

enjoy!:rider:
