Hi there!

Found your forum and a bunch of good info in here for my new bike so I decide to drop by and say hello !

Here's my brand new bike...around 1200 miles so far on it. Since it's the SEA (ABS) Canadian model, you probably all know that it came standard with full fairing and luggage. Dealer installed the optional Suzuki windshield (990A0-30000) and Yoshimura RS-3 pipe before delivery.

Yup...that is snow...pics were took on April 11th when they delivered me the bike. There's no snow left now.

Too bad the red ones aren't available here as this would have been my choice :trust:

How do you like the windscreen? Better wind protection than stock? I was thinking of ordering a larger screen form Twisted Throttle... they have a few types to choose from...

Honestly I cannot tell since the dealer installed it before delivering the bike to me. Same thing for the pipe....I don't even know how the stock one sounds like

Hey guys, new to this forum, and I have a quick question...

I just installed a Yosh RS3 carbon fiber slip-on on my 08 Bandit and noticed a slight loss in power at lower RPM.

Saucisse: Did the dealership install a Power Commander with your slip-on?

BTW nice bike! I really like the blue. Mine is the silver without the bags - the dealer didn't have ny more blue ones and I didn't want to wait for them to locate one for me, so I took the silver.

No they did not. No needs for it since I won't go any further in moding the bike.

Look at that shield on the red bandit, it has an adjustible wing on top, Wonder who makes that?

I have a Givi screen on mine, and even though I have read a lot of mixed reviews on it, I must admit that I find it to be quite good (see attached pics).
I'm just under six feet tall and the wind hits me just at the top of my helmet. I have to wear ear plugs because the wind noise is somewhat intrusive, but my chest and shoulders are very well protected...

I definately think you should do that mod..big difference...WELL worth the $. check out Dale Walker's, holeshot.com , module for it. He' got the numbers to really make a difference...then you can quite modding..if you can:trust:

How about a comparison of the bandit 1250 to some of the other bikes you've had ?

I got mine yesterday!!! I haven't been on a bike since I sold my CB900 Custom 8 years ago. This is an amazing ride! Obviously a far different animal than the 900... I am not an acommplished rider by any means, but the bike handles extremely well and has power to spare. This is the beginning of a beautiful relationship...:rider: She's straight stock, but thats All I need for now. If I decide to mod, I will post the details. The pictures don't do it justice!

A straight stock bandit?!?!?! Mate's, that's a rare find out here in the open tundra and is usually only found on the shiney showroom floors of the local dealer or at those tribal "new bike show" gatherings. I would love to actually see one out here in the wild!!!!

Hey guys, talking about mods... I'd like to get someone's opinion on this.

I find the seat has a bit of a forward lean (not very friendly to the 'family jewels' on hard braking! if y'know what I mean..).
Since the seat can be raised an inch or so, I simply raised the front part and left the back as it is.
It seems to be more comfortable, but I don't want to screw anything up...

Here's a link to the step-by-step. I only did the front part.
http://forums.banditalley.net/index.php?topic=9058.0

Does anyone have any opinion/experience with this?

Thanks!

Pesto,

That's a common thing to do, no negative side effects to worry about. That same thing was done on my bike within 20 minutes of taking delivery of the bike when new, nearly a year ago. My how time flys.

Pesto,

Did you raise the front of the seat switching the rubber bumpers AND the screws, or just one or the other? The reason I ask, is that I just tried raising both and notice that it cause a bridging effect for the back of the seat where the rear bumpers (of the pilot seat) don't touch the bike frame until you sit on it. I'm somewhat worried about the stress of this on the plastic seat shell.

Any thoughts?

Zaphabone,

I played around with the settings for a while but then ended up leaving the 'rubber bumpers' as they were because I was having the same problems you mentioned. I simply moved up the seat with the two front bolts, and the seat is resting on the frame as it was before.

Im guessing that the main body of the seat, being made of plastic, will need to curve/give a little...
I haven't had any problem with it so far.
