Anybody catch the 600 race from WI today? Man, that was craziness. Bikes were dropping left and right. Catch the post-race interview with Roger Lee? I felt bad for him. He had his first AMA victory in sight and then it's stolen from him by his own brother. You'd think Tommy would let the little guy win one, but I guess the Kawi higher-ups might be pissed about that.

Eboz had it going on in SBK! I think that's the largest margin of victory I've ever seen for a superbike race. Hope he can put up a good fight and hold off Mladin for the title. Doesn't seem likely, but he really came on strong last year after Laguna Seca, maybe he can do it again.

Hehe, not only did Tommy not let little brother win, but he stared at him as he went on by....ouch.

Re: EBoz, I'm really starting to be a big fan of his. He's got this supposed David of a bike going up against the G(XS-R)oliaths, but he just goes out there and does it. Plus, I know it's not a requirement for racers to be Nice Guys, but I enjoy his attitude during the interviews, he seems to pretty humble for such an awesome (imho) talent. A real team player, too: did you notice that for those cheesey Speed "1st row lineup" shots, EBoz had his team with him?

btw, I think it's cool that Duhamel wound up 4th; he's another guy with talen AND demeanor...

:tab I'm with Buck000 on this thing about atitude. I am sick of the whole WWF/NFL in your face mentality. It seems that kind of "talking smack" thing sells well though and it is creeping into so many other areas of sports. I really like guys like the Boz Bros, Miguel, Bayliss, etc,... that aren't all full of themselves. For me, simple raw talent is not enough to make a person worthy of repsect and admiration. Rossi seems to be rapidly heading down the showboat showoff side of the road. I just hope for his sake it does not come back to bite him on "The Doctor" :-P

Note: MotoGP spoiler potential

Hmmm, I've really become a big fan of Rossi, and not just because he's winning ;) :

* In yesterday's race, he cut it pretty close on (stuffed? ) one of the racers (Capirossi? ) and gestured afterwards, which the commentators said was a "whoops, sorry about that."

* Even though he doesn't think much of Biaggi, he compliment Capi and Max on a tough race. Biaggi, true to form, complained that he didn't have a factory ride. Capirossi didn't complain about anything, and was classy, too, despite being the hardest working man in MotoGP yesterday, imho ;)

* I agree with your hope that the Doctor doesn't believe too much of his own hype, but I still like the kid, and it must be tough being a, what, 23 y.o. demi-god in Europe making, what, 20 Million USD/year...? :-D

:-D Wow that was some great racing. That 600 race in the race was a little intense. I imagine that Jason DeSalvo is going to be a little sore for a while after that high side.

Rossi has always been a showboat on the track (like the time he arranged the "police" to arrest him on the track after he won a race....for speeding), but I've never heard him say anything negative about other riders, his crew, or bike (like Biaggi or Roberts Jr.). I don't mind a little showing off, he is still just a "kid" and (maybe it's just because I'm a fan), it doesn't seem (as tourmeister put it) the "in your face" kind of stuff we see these days.

How about Roberts taking out his teammate in the corner. Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall during their next team meeting!

Howdy,

:tab I did not mean to say Rossi is engaging in the verbal in your face stuff or slamming his team. Biaggi and Roberts are both bad about blaming everything around them. Rossi is more of a showboater. I remember John Hopkins winning an AMA Formula Extreme race a while back and while showing off on the victory lap he lost it and trashed his bike hehe. Fortunately, he was not injured. If Rossi losses one of those standing on the seat wheelies and injures himself, it could cost him the championship! So maybe it is just me, but I would be a little more careful ;-) I am a fan of Rossi. He rides like nothing I have ever seen. I don't think I could handle his fame and fortune myself. Which might explain why I have neither

I was agreeing with on the Rossi thing. Sometimes the fingers go faster than the brain. I can't stand all that "in your face" stuff. How cool is it that you can stuff a guy going into a corner at 180mph and both of you come out and just say "that's racing".

I especially enjoy watching the post race interviews when the racing is close. Last season and even early this season Rossi had short and sweet interviews. When he complained it was usually to the effect that it was an uneventful race and that he missed mixing it up with the other guys. Now that Capirossi is hot on his tail, he really lights up and is excited to talk about the race. There seems to be quite a bit of comradarie between those two and I thoroughly enjoy watching them mix it up on the track. If only I had an ounce of their talent...
