There are over a dozen cemetery related books in my library but Texas Graveyards is required reading if you have even a little interest in the subject.
Terry died about 5 years ago but while he was with us he did a great amount of serious scholarly work.
The other book of his that I own is Texas Log Buildings.

Texas Graveyards will provide you with lots of info about the traditions behind our varied burial customs.

I never get tired of visiting these silent cities.
History, art, and a peaceful park.

Not only are there interested groups in graveyards, there is a need in Texas for more help researching them. Many of the listed sites, don't have anyone signed up to help. And I wish the interest in them was enough to thwart the vandalism there!?!?
