Got the DVD of Get Lost: Oregon. A video compilation of 8+ riders on big and little adventure bikes riding back roads and tar from Northern California, north through eastern Oregon to Walla Walla, Washington. They all met in Bend, Oregon, at the foothills of the Cascade mountains, and rode from there (including a stop at Crater Lake).

Riders are from Oregon, Washington, BC Canada and New Zealand. Mostly big liter bikes (KTMs and BMWs) but a couple of smaller thumpers, too. As the title implies, one of them got lost.

I laughed and cried at the same time watching this. For several reasons; mostly because I miss Oregon. Seeing places I know, been, experienced and enjoyed. But also because I miss the low rumble of a big bike and the fun mischievous high sing of a small thumper. To have those out there in that country would be grand.

I like the interviews with the riders. It added a personal dimension to it over just video taping riding.

I've watched the movie twice and can't get enough.

I'm trying to motivate a group viewing in my local area. I'll supply the DVD and ice cream, someone supply a big TV!

I'm motivated ... to attend ... if it can be planned a bit ahead so I can be sure and be in town.

I don't own a TV ...

So it would have to be at someone's casa.

I could bring beer or wine ... :trust:

How much lead time do you need?

Mmmm.... ice cream and wine.....

Not a lot, but there are some gaps already filled ...

For example, I am in Ozona the last week of the month with TMTC annual meeting, EDRA work weekend and a speech I am giving ...

Ice Cream ... that means there has to be peaches! :eat:

Let's do it this way: when are good dates for you?

Friend Brent Miller interviewed Dru Martin, one of the riders and producers. The podcast of that interview is on his blog site here (http://www.sojournchronicles.com/2008/01/17/a-conversation-with-film-producer-dru-martin/). Apparently they may be doing another video project in Baja.

If you'd like, I can mail someone down in your area the DVD if you guys want to organize a group viewing. We're having one up here in the DVW area sometime in the near future. I'm glad to share it, but this is a keeper. I'd like it returned after viewing.

Put me on the list for borrowing the DVD. I have a few friends that need motivation.
