Ummm.... WOW!!

That was a great race!! Sucks for Colin though :? Bayliss ran off track again but did not lose it. He really seems to be struggling with keeping the bike on the track the last few races. Hooray for Capirossi though!! I love watching him give Rossi a run for his money, it really makes for a great race. I thought Rossi was toast when his knee hit the back tire on the Duc and he went wide. I cannot believe it did not just knock him over right then and there!! When he was on the tear to catch up he was smoking his tires through some of those corners, simply amazing. The guy is incredible. And the apparent ease with which he passed everyone to get back up to second place... astonishing. Had there been a lap or two more... It would have made for one heck of a finish!! Biaggi has got to be peeved hehe. Rossi blew past him like he was standing still and then not long after that Biaggi tossed it away. He has got to be burning up inside seeing Rossi ride like this. Anyway, I can't wait until the replay on Tuesday, gonna watch it at work :)

Rossi kind of hogged the spotlight during the award ceremony champagne-spray, but sheesh, he was the only one that had me laughing out loud and on the edge of my seat, wondering if he was actually gonna come back and beat Capirossi.

Kudos to Loris, though, he rode super-smooth on the DucBeast and was very classy in the post-race commentary.

But Rossi.... :hail:

I thought Rossi was toast when his knee hit the back tire on the Duc and he went wide.

Is that what happened? I'll have to go back and watch the tape again.

I'm really happy for Capirossi and Ducati. I'm not a Duc-lover, but it's amazing what the bike has done so far. It was cool that Bayliss got their first podium and now Capirossi their first win.

Did you see some of the rear wheel slides Loris was pulling off? He had that thing ****-near sideways at times. :hail Pretty cool what the announcer was saying about him putting on 10 lap old tires to go practice and qualify with so he'd get used to sliding that beast.

And yeah, Biaggi has to be raging inside. That first pass Rossi made on him as Rossi tore back up to the front was pretty much stuffing it up the inside of Biaggi.

Rossi was amazing. I hate that he dominates every race and makes things less exciting, but I give him credit for being phenomenal.

Hayden did pretty good. Up to 9th from starting 18th. Too bad about CEII going out.

Any word on Pitt? Was he the one that got stretchered off from the lap 1 crash?

I think it was Yanagawa on the stretcher, He is O.K. and realeased a note to his fans. Apparantly had the wind knocked out of himself and was concious, just trying to get some air. On CEII news... it was an ignition sensor that sidelined his Aprilla yesterday. The team is staying over or two days to work on the starts and software. That seems to be the big weakness right now. Colin has traditrionally been a great starteer, so they just gotta get the launch control and electronics fine tuned for Colin. He was the fastest man on the track before the electronics failure, so I think they are still making progress. Next race is at Assen which is one of Colin's best tracks. He should be able to simply focus on bike set up and not have to worry about learning a new track.
Congrats to Capirossi for a great race and Valentino's run up through the pack after his little off road adventure was stunning!
We had a great time at the watching party at Sam's Irish pub this weekend. Looks like the next race watching party on Satuday the 28th will be at the same place. I'll post as soon as its confirmed.
