NOTE: If your name (names) has a nametag icon http://www.twtex.com/photopost/data/500/thumbs/nametag_me.gif beside it, then I have made a stick-on nametag for you. If not, I am waiting until the last minute for you to supply an avatar picture or a "called/given" name to go with your screen name. The nametag will have your avatar, screen-name, and "real" name, assuming I can find all that information.

If your name is not in one of the lists, then you have not clearly said what your intentions are or I haven't gotten to it yet.
If it is still not on the list when a "list updated" post appears after it, I have erred  and let me know about it!

There will be a supply of blank nametags at the restaurant.

I will be there.

I have guest coming in that weekend, but since it's only about 50 miles from here, I'll make a quick run over to eat and visit with you guys for a few minutes.

Just so y'all know it's not unusual at the Blue Bonnet to wait in a line that wraps around outside toward the back parking lot, but it's worth it.

Oh, that's Labor Day weekend, so y'all be EXTRA careful out on the road.

Well when the list was originally made up, Marble Falls was earlier in the year and the wife has never been so we planned on making the trip. Sealy was close but I was working and couldn't get off. Kinda hurt too since I scouted that location.:tears: Ingleside was the next closest and I made it but had to rush off to work right after. Blessing is right down the road and we plan on making it but I don't know if I'm working. I may see if I can work something out if I am. So there's all the pie runs that I would have or could have possibly made in a nutshell...LOL:mrgreen:

We aren't far enough north to be affected much by Ed, as I type we haven't received so much as a drop from the old boy...LOL:lol2:

Hopefully your lesser half (we know who the better half is :lol2: ) will be joining us as well??? ok, OTHER half.

What time do you guys/gals plan on leaving the cafe?

I'll be in New Braunfels that weekend with the in-laws, so I may follow them on the bike. I'm going to have to balance spending time with the wife's folks and getting in some photos, so I may not make any kind of "group ride", but I'd like to go ahead and start meeting forum members, so even if I'm just shaking hands and wishing you well as you leave, I should make it in time to say "hello".

I guess you can call me a probably.5 as my wife may be willing to ride along.

OK, Boys and Girls,

I was staring at my almost-used-up package of Avery #5141 nametags and decided that I would "Squeakyfy" this months Pie Run with name tags. Everyone on the definite and probable lists will have a nametag printed that will look something like this (background is actually white):

http://www.texasarlingtoncs.us/pics/twt/nametags/nametag_5462q.JPG (http://www.texasarlingtoncs.us/pics/twt/nametags/nametag_5462.JPG)

So, I am collecting avatars and "real" names. If you want yours to be correct, make sure I have your real first name that you would like to go by.

Also, if you have never selected an avatar, now is a good time to do so. :trust:

Now, I will just need to print them out & remember to bring them!

OK, boys and girls, if you check the very first post in this thread (it is numbered #1 ;-) ), you will see little nametag icons next to the names for which I have currently have printed and are in my pile for the Pie Run. http://www.texasarlingtoncs.us/pics/smilies/vpsingles/ccake.gif

I have tinkered to get the size and format and even switched to a slightly different Avery tag, but now am ready to finish up...

I have concentrated on ones that I have an avatar and I know their "real" names thru one means or another.

So, if you don't see an icon next to your name, here are some reasons:

I can't figure out what you like to be called in real life.
You don't have an avatar and I am waiting to see if you add one.
I haven't worked down to you yet.
I am jealous of your bike and want to make you suffer.

Also, if you can supply a name for your +1s or +2s, then I can have those ready, too...

Very sad to report...you gotta move ToroGuy and GlitterCritter all the down to "Cancellation" category. Plan is to be there at or around 11:00. I hope to be there early and try to herd the cats... ;-)

I need to look at a route and departure time and place and post it up. It looks like there is a Houston group and a Waco group that already have plans.

Most likely will leave from SW Arlington (probably before 7:00) and wander down thru Cranfills Gap and Gatesville (need a courthouse photo there).

Anybody worried about the possible mass exodus of people fleeing the Gustav storm? My boss, Greg, who is no longer going tells me that I do not want to get caught in that traffic. Remember the last one that people fled? That one was downright ugly. I'm coming from Dallas and staying far west of I-35 where the mess would be but he claims that the back roads could be potentially congested as well. Accuweather states the some could be leaving as early as Friday with hospitals and the like leaving Saturday.

Squeaky

From the forecasts I've seen, the storm won't be out into the gulf until the weekend - and then we get to see which way they think it will go. From here in Houston, I think any exodus would be Sun/Mon - which means we'd be headed back there and against traffic.

I guess we still need to keep a close eye on it though. If it looks like it will get bad, I might just call it a day ride instead of a weekender.

If it veers farther west to the TX coast, it'll be Tuesday at least.

The roads were empty. We started with River Road (New Braunfels), TX-46 (Boerne), Bandera, Utopia, FM-337 (Leakey/Camp Wood), FM-335, we saw lightning and rain so we did not do FM-336, headed toward Kerrville via FM-1340 (Hunt) and checked into hotel in Kerrville. We made an impromptu ride up to Fredricksburg for German food at the Auslander restaurant then came back to the hotel in Kerrville. We returned early this morning. :sun:

So far, count me in. This will be my first pie run so be gentle with me. With an 11:30a target, I will need to leave by 7:00a.

Anyone want to ride from the Richmond / Katy area? If I slab it the whole way, it is still 200 miles from Fort Bend County. MapPoint calculated just under 5 hours but I am anticipating closer to 4 to 4.5 hours of road time with 1 fuel stop. (With a bad O2 sensor, I am only getting about 200 miles to a tank on the Pumpkin.)

I would not mind being part of a small group making the ride. We can meet in Katy, Fulshear, Brookshire, etc. My anticipated route - unless someone has another suggestion - is I-10 to Hwy 71 in Columbus (65 mile leg) and Hwy 71 to Hwy 281 just south of Marble Falls (130 mile leg)and Hwy 281 to the Bluebonnet Cafe (5 miles). I was going to make it a day trip because of my ongoing home improvement project but the return can be a little more back-roadsy.

Let me know...

My probability just dropped to zero. I'm going to stay here so my people can go ahead and get their families moved.

Be safe, everyone.

#85, Ausfletch, Fred! I'm somebody now! Millions of people look at this site every day! This is the kind of spontaneous publicity, your name in print, that makes people. I'm in print! Things are going to start happening to me now."

Wow, I wonder what his reaction was when the new phone book came out. Is Steve Martin his brother?

I am counting arount least 5 Wings. I know the BMW's and the Stroms and the ZX's and the ZR's, etc. will outnumber us but hey, I am willing to be a parking separatist. I'm not shy. And Squeaky said she will valet park all the bikes.

Not in THAT lot I won't!

It'll be a tight fit just for everyone to find a place to park. Everyone - please be mindful of blocking cars and other bikes in if you don't want to be disturbed mid-pie to go out and move yours.

I'd encourage DSers to help out by parking on the roof, or maybe in nearby trees...

I'd suggest maybe they could park in Big Bend, but I'm just a noob and don't want to get anybody upset.

We're now -2 in our group. Gene and Linda can't make it. I'll just have to eat their pie, too. :eat2:

When I was there a couple of months ago, there was some work going on in the empty lot diagonally across the intersection behind the Bluebonnet. It may be a parking lot. Otherwise, if they are done tearing up the street back there maybe we could park along it.

Just don't park at either business behind or next to the Bluebonnet. One of the Pie Runs we lined up for a picture at the place behind and they asked us to leave. We explained it was for a photo and we weren't parking and they were very nice about the whole thing. I suspect they get tired of people using it for overflow parking though.
