I just did the JD kit per Eddie's specs (thumpertalk) ...

155 Main
Blue Needle 4th position
Stock Pilot
2.75 turns on Extended screw...

I did'nt pull the carb...

The JD instructions said just loosen and rotate...

The top part of the carb was easy...

To get the carb rotated enough to work on the bottom I had to pull the stock exhaust and the oil vapor tank...

After putting everything back together I fired it up and it ran like it never has before.

Idles smoother...
No bog...
No Hesitation...
Just rips...:rider:

Should have done this long ago...2hrs start to finish...never done one before

Anyone that says a 3x3 and JD rejet dosent make a difference is just crazy.

I have to pull is again and rejet when I save $800 for Yoshi Ti...:eek2:

Three more mods that will bring out the "monster" in your DR-Z are an FCR-MX carb. Install an E-model base gasket (best bang for the buck at about $20.00) and a set of Hot Cams. Of course a big bore kit will help and you will still have a sweet reliable DR-Z.

I sold mine a while back, but it was sweet. I had the Hot Cams, FCR, Full Yosh, Manual Cam Chain tensioner, Kickstarter kit, I reworked the suspension, and it was sweet.

That's a killer looking bike...

I wanna street-tard but I would just probably get into trouble...
