Ok dirt riders a newbie needs your help.
I need new tubes for my 03 Dakar. I am interested in a Heavy duty tube, but I'm having trouble finding them at the local dealers. They seem to only have them and/or can find them up to size 110/90-17. I need a 130/80-17 for the rear. Any idea where to order these? Any help is greatly appreciated. My local dealers aren't much help.
Thanks,
:chug:

I dont find any 17 inch heavy duty tubes, but I see 17 inch tubes in Bike Master and IRC brand from Tucker Rockey. I will check in my Parts Unlimited book tomorrow or so. Are you getting ready to put knobbies on your bike? That rim shouldnt need tubes unless its a different BMW spoked wheel than others. Im not sure what the norm is though for running knobbies on your bike. I will post again with the P. U. info. If you are getting heavy duty tubes because you are having flats or something, you may want to run more pressure. What kind of pressure are you running in them, and on what kind of terrain? Also, if you would like to, I bet you could call Houston Motorcycle Exchange 713-863-7733 and ask Tommy about it. He would most likely know what you could do. :)
happy easter,

Rocky Mountain (http://www.rockymountainatv.com/)
Has a Cheng Shin 120/130/90-17. I haven't been able to locate another brand at my normal sites in 130/80-17 size. Another option would be to try Kevin Craig at Switch Motorsports on FM 1960. Great to do business with and if it is available he can get for you. Everything I've bought from him has also been at an excellent price. I don't have his phone number here at work with me this morning but it seems like I posted it in the vendor section.
Look here for his phone number http://www.twtex.com/viewtopic.php?t=3470

Yep, about to put some knobbies on. The F650's don't come with the fancy tubes, spoked rims like the GS's. :-(

I'm not having flat issues, haven't had the bike long enough. Researching on the f650 forum, alot of people use then and like them. But, none list the sizes that they are using. :-| I thought I'd give them a try for the Big Bend trip. If I can't find them, I'll go with regular tubes and a patch kit.
Thanks for your help.

Ahhhhhhh, ok. I figured they had those fancy wheels on them like the bigger models. I wonder if FLY makes a tube in that size? I guess the internet knows...
Good luck finding them. I will keep my eyes open.
