RideSmart Track Day - 9.20.2008 @ ECR

The ECR day was a total success. The weather could not have been any better.
Looks like several people had a change of heart a day or two before the event, since we had some last minute sign ups.

It all started at 6:30am with the registration in the classroom.
As with all track days, the morning went really quick.
Riding commenced at 9am.

We did have a mishap in T7 (2nd double apex corner), where some oil was spilled near the race line, but it actually made the day better since everyone coming through there had to practice tight turn in, and as the day went on it got better too.

One thing I want to say is a big thanks to Dave for purchasing additional time to ride until 7PM !!!! That was awesome. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Everyone I spoke to had a blast. I wish the event was a two day, but all things that are good must come to an end.
Looking forward to the next event - TWS on Sept 27, followed by another event on Oct 5, at the fine MSR Cresson facility.

Awesome Awesome Track! Wow what a blast. If you have never done a Ridesmart Track day its well worth the money. The one on one instruction was great. They teach your proper technique (which is what I was looking for versus speed) and tell you, If you do it right your thighs will be hurting the next day. They were definately right.

Thanks to Dave for putting on such a great event. Thanks to Slavek (Ciaka), Dirk, and Nathan for the excellent input.

Looking forward to the next one...hopefully TWS on Saturday.

This coming Saturday at TWS is promising to be great to, with the weather similar to what we had at ECR. I just received clearance from the ministry of finance, so I am all ready to go (event the bike is in the trailer - well, because I never bothered taking it out yet...lol).

Thank you for organizing such a great event. The Daytona absolutely loved ECR. This was my second RideSmart TD and can't wait for my next. Infact, I've already been cleared by my crew chief for the Oct 5th date at MSR.

My son, "Ian" and I had a great time watching all the going's on at Eagles Canyon this past Saturday. Thanks to Ray Harrelson and Rick Butler for inviting us to come on out and check it out. It was very exciting to see all the bikes out on the track working those turns. I couldn't hardly contain my excitement; I just wanted to get out there and "Do it". Rick introduced me to Dave while we were there in between sessions when he had a brief second to chat (very busy man). I let him know that I am definately interested in working me some corners so I can earn a track day myself. Now I'll have to work on getting me some real gear and a new set of tires ;-)

Here are some links to pics of Ray that were taken at the track on Saturday. I see some knee-draggin in at least 3 of those shots. What a rush that must be when you can execute a corner like that and feel confident in the bikes abilities as well as your own.

My son Ian was also very impressed with the 2 youngsters out on the 2-strokes ripping it up on the track. He now wants a track bike (Thanks again Ray and Rick)!

I wish I could.... but there are some tentitive plans to go to Red River Motorcycle Park the following weekend for some dirt riding.. would be a very tough sell at home to do both.
