I bought the Acerbis plastic kit for my "S" model...

Too much fabrication required for using the offroad plastic on the "S" model...

I dressed up my "E" model instead...

Direct bolt on, no mods required...

Anyone have any luck with the Krylon rattle can for plastic...

Gonna try and do the tank...

Won't the gas permeation be a problem with painting the tank? That's why the decals are perforated.

Paint will not last on a gas tank. It does not matter what you do to prepare the tank for painting. The gas fumes come straight through the plastic and flake the paint off. I painted an old gas-tank on my 88 YZ125 and it lasted about 3 rides before the paint started coming off.

This is true, nothing will adhere to plastic tanks, even the perforated stickers that are made for plastic tanks have a hard time staying on. I've seen tanks where guys obviously tried to paint them, and they aren't pretty. You'd be better of trying to paint your new plastic... which would be tough enough covering the black with yellow...

Just leave it 'bee' :-P
