RideSmart is holding an event at the MSR track on Oct 5, 2008. We are still in need of 5 people to help with corner work.
If you are not familiar with the corner work program at RideSmart, every day you offer for cw will result in a free track day credit with RideSmart on a day you choose (this season or the next).

If you are looking for some free track time, have a gf/wife/mistress/ect who would not mind doing it with you, you could quickly raise a few track days for the next season. The credits are transferable so gather those friends and spend a day at the track. Best seat in the house for watching the riders. Lots can be learned about lines by watching them.

If interested, please send an email to ridesmartcw@gmail.com and provide name, email, cell #, date desired, how many times did cw already.

Thank you for your support.

I sent an email to ridesmartcw@gmail.com a couple of hours ago...

Got this reply..
Hi. We will be glad to put you on the roster, however we require your cell # in case of important event information.
Please let us know asap since the spaces are almost all filled. Thank you.

Dont know who I am emailing with, but I sent them my #.. hope there is still a spot!

Just checked my email and you ARE ON the roster for Oct 5.

Cool.
The reason we need a cell # is that sometimes we must communicate important information to all corner workers and if we do not have a way to call you, you may end up going all the way up there to find out there is no event. That would be very undesirable.
Anyway, you are in....glad you can help.

I have a rookie question what does the CW do?

A cw (corner worker) is a person that is stationed near a section of a track, and is responsible for monitoring the going ons in that section. This means keeping an eye on the section, making sure the section is safe to be riding on, notify track marshal of any events on that section (crash, ride off, any thing that could affect safety). They are the eyes and ears for the track marshal on that section of the course (track marshal is responsible for everything that is going on the track).

As I'm sure you know, everything is about checks and balances. This weekend I'm finishing a pergola project as part of the deal for October 5th. I still haven't quite figured out what to put on the table in exchange for Nov 9th but I'm working on it.

Actually, my pit crew is coming out on the 5th to see first hand what all the fuss is about. They're planning on going into Granbury for lunch and the afternoon, but assuming they enjoy that, I'm thinking the 9th might work out.

So... my fingers are crossed and we'll see.

Ciaka, I know a couple of guys that aren't quite ready to do a track day but are really curious. Is a lunch time parade lap pretty standard with RideSmart events?

Yes. We do parade laps on all our events. Pending some major get off (where a lot of clean up needs to be done - and it happens around lunch), we have parade laps at our events.
Please call Dave and let him know you will be bringing more people for this (just puts more visibility on it for him).
Thank you.
