Ok here's the story, my dad hooked me up with a hunting trip but to be honest I've never been on a successful hunt. So I've borrowed a rifle from him and I'd like to hit the range to fire a few rounds through it to get use to it. I'm kinda new to the gun world.
I've got a couple hours to kill first thing Saturday morning so I'm going to head out to American Shooting Center (http://www.amshootcenters.com/) off Westheimer near/at George Bush Park Saturday morning around 8:00 [when they open]

I only have an hour or two to spend as we're commited elsewhere that afternoon / evening. Yeah I know it's the IPRD but I'm doing track days the next two weekends so I'm putting up an argument.

So if anyone wants to go, some company / tips / pointers etc... would be welcomed

I've been out there the last three weekends - helping the wife, then giving my nephew his first shooting experience :). I'd be happy to rendezvous with you... if I wasn't out of town this weekend :( Sorry!

Wow who knew there were three loops, that's way out in west giblip. If it was closer to the woodlands I'd be in for sure, but it looks like 90 minutes each way for me.

Good luck.

I'm thinking on leaving my house 7:30 - 7:45 so I should be there not long after it opens if anyone is interested in going

Dude, just line up the sites or crosshairs, hold steady and press the trigger without disturbing the sight/scope alignment. The stock should be pressed firmly to your shoulder, done correctly you should be slightly suprised when it fires.
