Cowboy Capital BBQ - Bandera Texas

About: I get real depressed when eating BBQ at most BBQ places. The Bandera area already has a BBQ place but my dogs won't eat the scraps from this place and they charge you for a pickle. I was traveling north on Hwy 16 towards Medina just outside Bandera and I noticed a sign for the Cowboy Capital BBQ. I was loathe to stop for fear of being disappointed but my wife was hungry so we stopped to try the place out. I was amazed at the quality of the brisket. The guy who owns the place KNOWS how to cook brisket and it is on a par with Coopers and better than the Salt Lick. Juicy and tender! The first time we went, I got a plate and while the sides are great, sides at a BBQ place seem like a waste of time if the meat is great. Next time I went, I just bought a 1/2 lb. of lean brisket and grabbed some bread and onions and of course BBQ sauce and Louisiana hot sauce and made sandwiches. Just the way I do up to Coopers. My wife has tried their burgers and she tells me they are real fine as well. Anyway, another option when visiting Bandera besides the OST. God bless!
