That's not too bad for me. I took the car a lot this summer because of the heat. Dang, but the Valkyrie mileage seems consistent...gotta change that. But, you have to give me a few weeks at least. My bike will go into the shop (read black hole) for some repairs after I put her down a couple weeks ago.

Better yet, we need to plan on meeting at least once a quarter to wrack up miles together. It'll keep us honest. :trust: :rofl:

This was the milage at Midnight as I was going through Belmont (90A & 80).
I had decided to start a new tradition of riding in the New Year.
Just after missing a deer by a couple of inches I decided the new tradition sucked and that I would head home, slowly.

17,008 miles in 2008

I know that makes no sense, there was a new odometer during the year.

Didn't know of a plan. I just went to Amarillo, picked up Micah, rode the back way to Claude, south past Mackenzie, over to Nazareth, north to near Canyon, back way into Amarillo.

Mine is the GS spent 20 days at the dealer for a seal repair. Of course, the poor duc had to take up the slack. The bike can handle commuting in all the rain we've had, but man I hate chain maintenance.

But in my defense, I've put on more than 5,000 miles since I bought Bikey last August 15th. I've only taken one overnight trip during that time (down to Lake Corpus) and most of miles are the hard way -- 11 miles to work in the morning; 11 miles home in the evening.

And there were a couple of months there that I could only run the bike with the charging system disconnected, limiting my range to the range of the battery from a charging. :doh: But I still rode to work 5 days a week! :clap:

Now if I jcan ust find time from my responsibilities and "honey do" list (or convince my wife to come long) for some long day trips or overnighters, I can get somewhere! :rider::rider::rider:

:rider: this year! About 20 miles today and I never even got out of the neighborhood. I had no idea this place was as big as it is. Very similar to The Woodlands; just no trees.

But yes Chuck, I'll put some miles on it, especially after August when it starts to cool down a bit. My mom lives 3 hours away up in the Mogollon Rim country so I'll try to make some weekend trips up there. 5-7000' elevations; lots of twisties and sweepers. Beautiful country.

My brand new '87 R80RT starts the year with 50,585

It sits in the garage, awaiting - once again - the rebuilt rear shock with 60,485 miles on the clock. That makes 9,900 for the year. Not bad for a 5 mile round trip commute :-)

Wow, you guys are nuts.:eek2: I thought I was the only one that kept a total miles on all the bikes,:trust: I keep a small note book on each bike
and I have done it for the last 30 years, oil changes tires and total miles for the year and then broke down to miles per month:lol2: i can go back to any bike that i owned for the past 30 years and look at miles and maintenance on the bike..

Guess I'll get in on this. Just went for my first ride of the year today (finally fixed my stator that fried itself back in December).

2007: 0 (purchased 1/27/07)

The stator managed to fry itself again in August, leading to another six weeks of downtime (though the twofiddy got alot of miles right around then).
