DS rides around Houston?

Does anyone know of some good DS rides within an hour or so of Houston?

Depends on your definition of "good", but there are some areas north of town that you can get to fairly easily. Lots of sand, but tolerable on anything but super-heavy adventure bikes.

East Texas Sam Houston National Park is nice and you can't beat the beach anytime.

I regularly go up to the Sam Houston National Forest on Friday afternoons. There are miles of dirt rodes, 84 miles of single track if that's your thing, and you can make some pretty nice loops from the park out into the countryside on the dirt roads.
