One of my aftermarket rear blinkers is out so I went and bought a new set from Cyle Gear. The new blinkers have a metal clip, where the old ones have straight wire mating in a plastic clip that runs from the electrical system.
The pic I took of the clip did not come out well, but basically the wire ran straight in between metal contacts and is too small for the clips from the new blinker. Should I just strip the clips off the new wire?
Used to be a mechanical operator on nuclear subs but simple electrical procedures are still black vodoo magic to me! :brainsnap

I cant tell what I'm looking at.
Looks like a bullet plug, and a blue crimp connector. I cant tell what's what though and what running to what.
The stock lights use a bullet plug.
Many aftermarkets come with a crimp connector that you lay both wires in, close like a little book and squeeze with a pair o pliers.

I'm going to try and do battle with that blue crimp connector with pliers to see if I can get it shut. The blinker works when I squeeze it tight but I could not get it to stay shut!

DUCT TAPE - it solves every problem I've ever thrown at it.
If I'm seeing this correctly, I would get the other side of the bullet connector and lose the crimp connector. Every one I have ever used has failed eventually. Any auto part store will have them in a variety of sizes.

Black electrical tape will be part of the final solution!

Shrink wrap is better.

1. Duct Tape is like THE FORCE. It has a light side, it has a dark side, and it holds the universe together.
2. If it moves and shouldn't - Duct Tape, if it doesn't move and should - WD-40.

Thanks Kurt, I may just take your suggestion and can the blue crimps and pick up some matching bullets.

yup just strip both ends and solder it, if ya want to be really pimp slide some heat shrink tubing on down the wire before soldering so you can shrink wrap the connection when your done. Radio shack has lots of it. :)

Admitting it is the first step, Scott. Now you just need to add some pink neon lights to the big pig!!
