1. We will have one new ASSIGNMENT thread, located in the Photography Forum for each new photo assignment. Assignments will be sequentially numbered to keep track of them. The ASSIGNMENT thread will be started to post the assignment, and be used for conceptual shots, discussion, prior work related to the current assignment etc. An ENTRY thread related to the assignment will be opened at the same time for actual entry submission.
2. Entries are restricted to one per participant per assignment. Please don't be 'that guy' and post more than one entry in the ENTRY thread.
3. I'll start it off by choosing a theme for the first assignment. Pictures must be submitted by midnight the last day of the assignment which will run just shy of two weeks, to be considered for judging.
4. After the assignment closes, a winner will be chosen by the the one controlling the assignment.
5. The new winner will then select a topic for the following assignment and post that assignment when they learn they have won (usually that Tuesday or Wednesday). The new assignment will then run about 12 days to the next Monday midnight deadline, and so forth.
6. The winner of that assignment will then select a topic for the next assignment and post it. We will repeat this rotation. The one in control can NOT select their own submission for that time period as a winner, but they can submit in order to participate.
7. Critiques on ways to use lighting, shutter speed, composition and other factors to improve photo quality are accepted and encouraged. Hopefully participants will be open to constructive criticism and suggestions.
8. If someone wants to use photoshop for post-processing activities, that will be allowed, to the point the original subject and content has not been altered beyond reality. This is open for interpretation, so in the spirit of the competition (unless a specific assignment says go for everything in your toolchest), please keep Post-Processing edits to simple things such as white balance, contrast, saturation or vibrancy, shadow and highlight detail, and sharpening. Unless specified as an option, let's keep the HDR work out of the entries, ok?
9. Lobbying for one's own photo is not necessary. Just post the pic and perhaps the EXIF information if requested. There should be little to no text submitted with your entry. The picture should stand on it's own as it relates to the current assigment.
10. Creative interpretation of topics is encouraged. All forum rules apply regarding how appropriate a picture can be.
