Taken with the D40. It has a clear filter which caused the glare.
The ones in RAW from the D100 were taken with a 400mm lens with no filter. They do not have the glare.
The pictures taken in RAW have not yet been processed. Got some good ones there. ;-)

Nice. The last series, is that a brush fire in the distance?

Yes. The fire was about a quarter to a half mile away across a little bay. The tree is about 75 yards away. I put the 400mm lens on the D40 and set it on the tripod. I have the wireless remote fot the D40 so I could open the shutter without moving the camera.
There is one sodium light about 100 yards to my right. The light and the fire are the only lighting in the picture.

I had intended to take all of the pictures with the D100 in RAW. I forgot one time and used the quick reset to set my shutter and other settings back to zero and forgot that it reset the RAW back to jpeg. That is why there are these few pictures. I have some very good shots (I believe ;-) ) That I will get posted when I get them processed.

I ended up loosing $10 for the evening. :(

We could hear and feel it from the visitor's center. It was very loud.

Nice shots!! :clap: I liked them all, but the ones that struck me the most were the lighthouse's stairwell and the one with the brush fire silouetting the palm tree.

I was standing out in the parking lot looking at the back of the camera and flipping through the pictures I had taken of the lighthouse and saw that messed up looking starewell. I did not remember it looking that wierd and thought it was a malfunction with the camera. I went back inside and looked at the stairs again. Wow. I still can't figure out how they built them like that.

I was happy with the way the fire picture came out.
