Anyone know any good moto-friendly hotels (or good hotels with wide doors :D ) in Mobile Alabama? I might be passing through next month.

Stayed at the Best Western Battleship Inn (http://www.bestwesternbattleshipinn.com/) 4 (?) years ago. No issues. Nice restaurant on the premises. Don't remember the price, didn't seem particularly out of line tho'.

The two time I have ridden that way I have stayed East of Mobile in Florida. There are a lot of good places to stay.
If you have time make sure to ride to Daulphin Island and take the Ferry across Mobile Bay. A lot of history and pretty fun.
You can vistit Fort Gaines while on Daulphin Island.

Best western it is, the queen single looks like its got a nice parking spot next to the door :D
I don't have any good advice on Mobile but I have noticed on our travels that the best places to stay are Holiday Inn Express, State campgrounds, or military billeting.
I tried B&Bs, cheap hotels, expensive hotels, cabins, etc and I have found that Holiday Inn Express seems to be the better place to stay if your not camping. Most let me park the bike right by the front door so they can keep an eye on it. Plus, almost all of them have a pool, continental breakfast, and free internet. It seems the more expensive the hotel the more of the extras you have to pay extra for and the cheaper the hotel the more likely you are to not have a bike in the morning. It seems like any of the hotels with Express in the title offer more benefits. (you get the idea :) )
I only offer this useless advice because if you are in a pinch when your travelling these are usually a sure fire bet. No I don't work for them but that might be a good commercial; Me and the wife traveling the country on our bikes.
