.... but this guy was a wizard on two wheels and a friend of my wife's and I. He was a well known rider around Austin and left a few years back to move to Colorado, where he was shop manager (I believe) at Wheatridge Cycles and later a rep for Yeti.

If you'd like to see some beautiful photography... here's his site.

Perhaps not a motorcyclist, but forever a rider. Godspeed, Anthony.

Some of his trip reports from MTBR:

He was an amazing rider, it's always eye-opening to watch somebody on mountainbikes or motorcycles who just personifies "flow". He could flow up and over the gnarliest stuff imaginable without a wasted move or a harsh sound, it was something else.

If you are interested and get a chance, look through his trip report from Cambodia. Wow...

Edit: Chris thanks a bunch for the ride links. I don't post on MTBR so I hadn't seen them... they are typical Anthony... wonderful pictures and writing.

What is the story on his death?

Not sure yet Scott, there's talk of a genetic condition but anything is premature right now... and obviously dependent on those who own the information releasing it.

We're hoisting a brew in his honor at the Draught House in Austin at 7:30 tonight, and there will be an Anthony ride at City Park on Tuesday I believe.

I will definitely be spending some time checking out his stuff! A shame he is gone, but it looks like he was living a really full life and has left behind quite a legacy. I'd hate to see it go down the internet memory hole. I wonder if there will be plans to put some of his stuff together in book forms?

There's definitely talk of preserving the website and possibly a book, depending on what Anthony's family would like and allow I suppose.

I actually knew Anthony back in high school, we had some common friends. I was blown away to hear of his passing. It's amazing how many people's lives he touched.

Hey Texfire, two of his high school buddies were at the Draught House last night, including one that was also his roomie in college. They found us via Facebook. It was good to get together. There will be a shindig out at City Park on Tuesday night if you're in the Austin area.

I only knew him peripherally, I'd hate to intrude, we really just moved in the same circle. But it's good to know that his friends are remembering him. Some of mine from high school are pretty upset about it, I had to remember that I knew him first, it's been a long time...

The read of that Cambodia trip was great. Very intense in a few places and definitely some that hit close to home for me as a father of three young kids. When I see how some people treat their kids, it just breaks my heart, for the kids without a doubt, but even for the parents.
