The Introduction to Trail Riding course is designed as a hands-on, local-environment training program.
It is developmental extension of the DBS Closed Range Exercises and works well as a family oriented introduction for new trail riders who possess basic dirt bike riding skills.
It is also an excellent re-entry vehicle for participants returning to dirt biking.


What do you get for $250.00

7-8 Hour Trail ride (Keep in mind we ride the trail layout before the class for safety and class layout)
Focus on Student Specific needs that you send in ahead of time and we can find areas pertaining to the need.
Park fees for the enrolled student.

Lesson 1 Introduction Trail Signals, Rules & Warm Up Exercises

We will conduct a minimum of nine of the 15 ITR exercises.
Of those 15 exercises there will be four of the six surfaces in Lesson 2 Riding Different Surfaces.
Two of the five hill exercises in Lesson 3 Introduction to Riding on Hills.
Three of the four obstacle exercises in Lesson 4 Introduction to Riding Over Obstacles.

Ex. 1 Riding in Sand
Ex. 2 Riding in Water
Ex. 3 Riding in Mud
Ex. 4 Riding over Rocks
Ex. 5 Riding in Snow and Ice (Probably Not Happening In Texas)
Ex. 6 Riding in Tight Woods

Lesson 3 - Hills
Ex. 7 Stopping and turning around on Hills
Ex. 8 Traveling up & Down Hills
Ex. 9 Traversing and Stopping
Ex. 10 Steeper Uphills
Ex. 11 Steeper Downhills
Ex. 11A Alternate Method, Steeper Downhills (Bulldogging)

Lesson 4 - Obstacles
Ex. 12 Riding Whoops
Ex. 13 Riding in Ruts
Ex. 14 Riding Drop Offs and Ledges
Ex. 15 Crossing Ditches

Minimum Protective equipment


DOT- compliant off-road, full faced helmet with visor
Off-road goggles
Motocross-style boots
Long pants, long sleeved shirt or jacket
Full fingered, off-road gloves
Water hydration system is recommended (not required)
We have gear for those who may not have boots etc.
