This is why I can't get 5,000 miles outa my Pilot Roads; on the way to "The Junction", a place where bikers ride to challenge the roads and get a burger:

I had to resort to driving the cage a month ago. One morning I drove to a distant haunted Chinese town along the Delta for lunch. The streets were closed off and they were celebrating Asian Pacific Days. Parked in the parking lot was a trio of olde Vespas and a couple Riverside (Monkey Ward) thumpers, COOL!
Chinese ladies doing the Hustle in Locke.... before I went in for a burger and JD over water:

I read in the paper that the local motor LEO's are putting on a demonstration. I drove the car over to check it out, and though impressed, I didn't stick around in the hot sun very long:

While staying home from work and looking for stuff to do, I heard about these guys coming to town, so I put my overalls on and decide to go check 'em out.... VERY COOL!

Then I read how a local Duc' dealer was having an open house. They were showing off the new Street Fighter 1098 (I could do one!). They usually offer $25.00 Dyno runs during these open houses, so I rode my bike in to see what it's putting to the rear wheel since adding the Stage 1..... no such luck. They did however have free grilled Italian sausages, chips & salsa, chili, drink....... and I just joined Weight Watchers two nights prior, D'OH! They also had some stunters come in and perform for us. I wish I could say I was impressed, but there are all sorts of idiots trying this stuff on local streets and giving bikers bad names:

Soooo.... another night of no sleep, but I wanna ride with my buddies in the morning as I've been unable to ride for over a month. I woke up at 2:45 in pain from my a tear in my rotator cuff, dropped a couple 750 MG Vicodin and tried to grab a couple more hours of (restless) sleep. I got dressed and met my buddy at 6:30 for coffee. We were joined by Aaron on his Buell that he just reconstructed from a get-off at the track, the guy on his MV Agusta flaked on us, Steve was on his FZ1, and I was aboard my Bandit. The weather was great, the roads were clear, the traffic was almost non-existent, the RIDE was FANTASTIC! That's Steve waaaay ahead in the video, Aaron in front of my, and me filming the action. About 1' 43" into the video, you can see the rear tire slip out from me as I grabbed a handfull while leaned over.... earlier in another video, you can hear my RennTech engine guard scraping along the ground while I leaned over..... I really NEED to replace this rear shock!

The day however was not without it's casualty. We met up with Russ as he was out riding with his Hayabusa buddies. He rides with us, but decided to take his friends to our local "Mini Dragon" (as seen on my video). One of the Busa's went off the road, the bike wedged waaaay up in a tree, and the rider (in full gear) rolled down the embankment. He went into the corner too fast. He posted this morning on the Busa' site, but he was taken off in an ambulance with fear of a fractured hip last night.

It was great to get out for a ride yesterday. The Vicodin has since worn off, and the Naproxyn I took yesterday to get through the day is burning my stomach this morning. I should be out running/walking, but I can't seem to get warm this (late) morning and I just feel beat. Counting my "Points" for Weight Watchers, watering the lawn, and celebrating the FIRST real night of good sleep I got last night (only woke up twice). Guess I'll go out and wash the bugs off the bike now, lubricate the chain, check my psi's, and hope that I can get another ride in before I hafta go under the knife for my shoulder.....
