New Orleans Hotels

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good inexpensive hotel in or around the French Quarters area of New Orleans? Nothing fancy, but clean and preferably within walking distance of the square?
 
I like the Montleon (sp). Old school and rates used to be cheap by local standards like the Hyatt.
 
The Crown Plaza is on the corner of Canal and Bourbon. It runs around $120 a night but is in walking distance of EVERYTHING. You're in the quarter and just a hop and a skip from the casino. I was there for a week for work and we never drove anywhere except to the office.

It also has a parking garage if you're on 2 wheels so the bike won't be out on the street.

Lastly, if some crazy panhandler has a crazy story about where you "got your shoes" the answer is, "there on my feet now get away you crazy bum!"

:lol2: Are they still playing that game? They were playing that 20 years ago when I lived just north of Naw'lins.
