Only knew Omar for a few months. Really cool guy. Had a '00 ZX12... Always mindfull of what was going on around him. When the wife and I would ride with their club, he was always looking back to make sure everyone was staying together...always hung in the back of the pack.
I got a text message at 12:35 Sunday morning. Omar had been killed.
What I was told...
He was riding home around 9pm Saturday night. A lady ran a red light and t-boned him @ greast southwest pkwy and Pioneer.
What we heard....
She was heading to a club and wanted to beat the 10pm cut off time for "ladies in free". The police let her go from the scene. After witness statements they issued a warrant for her arrest for murder. She is 18.
What I've read...
One online article said he locked up his brakes when the 18yr old girl turned left in front of him and he hit her.
We are waiting for the full police report.
There is going to be a memorial bike night held @ Whiskey Charlies tomorrow 6/30/2009

Not sure what else to put. He is the 1st person that I've actually known to go down and pass....sucks that hes gone. he will be missed.
