Wouldn't this more properly be labeled "July Pie Run for 2009", considerin' how June 2009 was so last month? :hack:

I should be arriving home from a 2 week cage/pop-up camping trip on July 25, Lord willin'.

Ya'll have fun, if you get the right month and all. :lol2:

I'm in...Ron is in and we are planning on going down on Wednesday for some fishing. I am also trying to figure out if I can rig up a way to pull my boat...so far, no ideas yet. If anyone wants to go fishing...holler at me. We can either jump on a head boat or I have some honey-holes that we can go hit and we wont need a boat. You will only need to swim about 20 yards in water about 6foot deep. I have several friends there and might can borrow something, but it isnt totally necessary. If the fishing bug hits me hard  ...I will craw-fish on the bike and take my truck with the boat behind me. :trust:

Like I said earlier...KillerKru (Ron) and I are heading down on Wednesday morning, July 22 so that we can head over to Port A and do alittle fishing. Anyone want to go early and run with us, or meet up somewhere along the way...holler at me. Not sure just yet how we are going to go, but probably go down 35 to San Marcus, then turn off and go thru Seguin and head on down. For people spending the night, we have stayed at The Comfort Inn many times in Ingleside. Its nice and its clean and the prices are very reasonable. Its just down the street from the "pie shop" like you were going to go to Corpus. We will head back Sunday morning early...leaving out no later than 7 am.

I was there last time and remember it being a little windy on 35 south of Port Lavaca.

Seems like it was warm but not unreasonably hot like it has been lately.

I tried riding tonight but it was uncomfortably hot!

KillerKru (Ron) and I are heading down on Wednesday morning, July 22

I expect to head down (very) early Friday morning & plan to stop at a few courthouses - not quite a straight route thru San Saba. I hope to be in the area by Friday night, so maybe we can meet up for some chow somewhere.

I'll check on the Comfort Inn - last time I stayed at the Best Western. Where abouts is the CI (too lazy to check right now)?

Please put Erik "Rainmaker" and I as probables. Hopefully he'll get that weekend & we can see his folks as well. :zen:

The 11:00am meet will be tough for me but I'm going to do my best. I'm making a weekend trip out of it and staying the night Saturday. I plan on riding around Mustang Island and stuff. I've never made it to the beach except at Galvaston so I'm excited.

off of 67 at the home depot is a easy meet spot, or I can be on the north side of the court house for easy escape westward.

with a best range of 140 miles before yellow light of doom, lot of stops is good with me.

67 and the 174 exit, right? It looks like there is a bank at the corner of that access road and Pipeline (runs north and south) which is just a short distance from the exit & easy back on.

As luck would have it, Murphy paid me a visit this morning on my way to work at about 6 in the am. Going about 65 and the engine just stopped. Not sure what it is, still turns over, no codes come up. But it will probably render me inoperable for the ride tomorrow. I will be taking it down to Lone Star tonight or tomorrow to have them look at it instead.

Dissapointing, but oh well.

Take Care, hope it's a good ride.

Count me in. (I actually work in Ingleside & some of my students work at Floyds). Do you want me to drop by and tell them anything tomorrow?

In good Texas fashion, everything they serve has gravy. People around Ingleside tend to like their chicken-fried steak. Surprisingly, I've only eaten there twice & had a good old fashion greasy burger.

You might watch the thread here and give them an updated count. I estimated 20-30 a couple of weeks ago. looks like with folks adding toward the end, we might make it! :thumb:

Had 8 for dinner tonight on 7 bikes (all from DFW or Austin areas):

2 Beemers
1 old Yamaha
2 Wee-Stroms
1 GoldWing
1 special SV1000N

Took the Port Aransas Ferry to Mustang Island for some sea food and hamburgers. The security guy said MCs can use the shoulder to go up front - that got as all on the back row of the ferry that was loading, otherwise it was a 1500 foot line to wait in. :zen:

Plan to see more folks tomorrow... :rider::eat::rider:

Me and Sluggo are leaving this morning from Corpus Christi, going down SH 358 to the island then SH 361 to Port Aransas, cross the ferry to Port A. then down 361 to Ingleside.

See you there! Unless we meet some of you on the road. Beep if you see a red ST1100 and a Moto-Guzzi (shouldn't be that many, and even less in that combination).

I was on the way down guys...not quite to Waco and Margy called. She got hit in her car where I-30 and 35W mesh up as she was merging onto I-35W North. She is fine but her back right door, side panel and rear bumper have been officially declared dead. So, I had to turn around and come back. Got 4 estimates and they were all at approximately $2000 to 2250. The other guy that hit her was at fault and he has Progressive Insurance. Took the car over there to them and they wrote an estimate of $1125 and handed me a check. I told him that the money was unacceptable...tore it up and threw it on the floor and started walking out. This dude followed me like a car salesman and I told him that I was taking the car to our friends that have a body shop and that he can pay me $2011 now, or wait for the court summons and it will be 5times the amount. His response was ..."You are going to sue us?". I told him "YES...you figured that out pretty quick. You write me a check for the amount of the estimate that I have brought you, or I am outta here and going to my attorneys office and you can deal with him!" He said "OK" and I walked out of the Progressive claim center on Avenue T in Grand Prairie and cut me a trail to my lawyer...told him what the deal was and all of a sudden my cell rings...guess who?? Its some hotshot with Progressive wanting to negotiate. I told him,"I dont do that...talk to this other guy." I handed the phone to Bill and he lit into him pretty hard...basically telling him how the cow was eating the corn, then he handed me the phone back and the Progressive clown said he would meet me at the place that was going to repair my wifes car at 9am Monday morning. I told him to bring a check for $2500 or dont bother to show up. He asked me why the estimate went up from $2011 and I told him that there was a $300 consulation fee with him talking to my lawyer and that the remaining $189 was going to me as the penality for pissin me off. All he said was OK...I will see you Monday morning and I hung up.

Word to the wise here guys...Progressive takes pride in BRAGGING that they claim to be the largest vehicle insurance company and if you give them an inch...they will go out of their way to try to screw you over.

I called Margy and told her what was happening and she called the guy that hit her and she told him what Progressive was doing and she said that the guy went balistic...mega bent out of shape mad...but not at margy...at Progressive. He said that he would also be at the body shop Monday morning to make sure that everything is taken care of. This guy owns THE MADELEINE resturants and he has his insurance on all of them thru Progressive and Patrick couldnt be nicer if he was paid to be. He has been on the up & up from the get-go...an absolute super nice and HONEST guy...my hat is off to him.

I will let you know what happens Monday, but I think with Patrick being there and also my lawyer...Progressive is going to tuck tail.

I'm home now. All is good.

Gareth (Iron Wombat), Leon (Focus Frenzy) , Bill (Strom Dude) and Chuck (Gilk51) peeled off about Mustang Ridge on Toll 130 just outside of Austin headed north about 7:15pm so it'll be a late one for a Chuck and Leon.

THANKS Chuck for leading us everywhere you said you would (....and a few other places too ;-)) I'm beat.

Arrived home around 8 pm....after i stopped at the village pool to cool off. The heat and the wind bursts made for an interesting ride. Good to meet you Dan and TJ, thanks Chuck. 515 miles today, the bike operating like clockwork. Camelpack is a good thing to have while riding in this weather.
