I have some family visiting this week so we took the tour of the UT Clock Tower (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Building_(University_of_Texas_at_Austin)) last night.
The tour we went on started at 8p.m. and lasted for about an hour. As luck would have it there was a masterful sunset this evening, one of those rare ones where the sky turns into a giant orange glowing fire. Spectacular!
I took a bunch of pictures of Austin. These 3 show downtown over about a 30 minute period, from full sunlight to twilight.
The evening sun and sky turned the city orange.

The sky transitioning from orange to purple.

Handheld, taking advantage of the last rays of the sun. After this I would have needed a tripod because there wouldn't have been enough light to shoot hand held.

One extra pic: Connie checking out the view.
