Please let me apologize from the first for a few things here.
Number one this post should be under special places but where? These "Ghosts" are almost all still alive, and this isn't just a place for the Dead they see the light of day often. Yes many are dead but many of them, just like Blade, are "DayWalkers" and some like true Vampires only come out in the cover of darkness to attack those unsuspecting fools who roam the streets at night looking for prey, only to discover they have become the prey.

I must further apologize for the fact that I am NOT at liberty to disclose the location of these Wonders. I would ask that my few friends here locally who may know of these vehicles and their owner would respect his right to privacy and not disclose his name or whereabouts please! Please understand that this collection is valued in the millions and not the kind of thing you would want the neighborhood kids to know about, a reckless thief could destroy priceless and irreplaceable things.

A close friend of my Fathers is rather wealthy and a genuine down to earth car guy. He loves Racing, any kind of Racing. And Race Cars. So a few years ago I delivered a car for him and having heard stories from my Father I just decided to ask.
I have been promising to take Marie there for years and a visit from my Niece and her son turned into the perfect opportunity.
Well it turns out that he has a VERY nicely appointed shop where he works on and restores carswith 20 or so old muscle cars strewn about.
But in a very nondescript metal building next door,,,,
this is what you walk into

A very nice shop with some very nice cars. A completely restored ProStock Chevy II, a Stock ChevyII, a beautiful restored Big Block 396 1972 Camaro, The ONLY 4th Gen Camaro to be built by Chevrolet with a 69 Z28 302 from the Factory(a Chevrolet test mule/show car), a Custom 1969 Camaro that is tricked out beyond belief. Each of these cars are immaculate! I mean you could eat off the motor but you'd feel guilty!
Well a quick stroll through a side door reveals the "TV Room"

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y109/ns50r/Delmers/P1010022.jpg
If you haven't figured it out yet the couches are a 57 Chevy rear a 50 Merc rear and a 57 Chevy Front. I should have taken a picture of the tables they are made out of steering columns from old cars welded to a steel wheel with a glass over the steering wheel to form a table top.
Keep moving there's much more to see
On the way across the room there is a moment to stop and check out this customized Bi Block Fuel Injected Terror, oh and one might notce the 100% original Hemi Dart next to it.

Sorry we missed the other 15 or so cars in the room and the most recent buy from the Barrett Jackson Auction, but all of this excitement has got me pretty thirsty so

Yes it's an authentic 50's Soda Fountain and everything works! Even the JukeBoxes!

Well after a Coke and a smile its time to head DOWNSTAIRS

When you reach the bottom of the stairs you realize you are walking out of the front door of a Gas Station! Well Might as well fill her up while we are here!

Well lets take a quick look around
The first thing the Kid saw was this

The first thing I saw was this
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y109/ns50r/Delmers/P1010033.jpg
Yes it's my personal favorite. Yes it is Lee Sheppards Car, Yes it is the one that won 5 World Championships, Yes it is all original each and every part searched out from across the country to put it back EXACTLY as it was when Lee drove it. With one tiny exception, the transmission is NOT the original one Lee used. It has been replaced by a similar unit built and tuned by Reher Morrison the original is in England and a price is still under negotiation.
Oh and look at the floor and the Christmas tree is right there between the 2 coolest cars.

The next Car of my dreams sets right next to it. This Car belonged to
"MR CHEVROLET" anyone have a guess? I'll tell you later but he was my childhood idol I met him when I was just a kid and he was the Man!

"Has that thing got a Hemi in it?"
Yes and it is flawless clean.

"It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?"

Well I guess you knew this car was coming sooner or later
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y109/ns50r/Delmers/P1010079.jpg
It's pretty much period correct.
There are so many cars that there really was nowhere to start and nowhere to stop, I tended to take photos of the cars I liked and overlooked more than I photographed. I really would liked to give each car it's own spot in the limelight but just the quick stroll and these pics were nearly 2 hours and there are more buildings I didn't even take pics in!
Once again I would ask everyone to respect the privacy of this collector and the sanctity and safety of his collection by keeping your mouth shut if your know who or where. I also want to stress that although this is a private collection and that the owners took time out of their day to show us around they also host certain Charity events from time to time or reunions, they are very gracious and wonderful people but you couldn't really expect them to have visitors 7 days a week which I'm sure they would have if more people knew of the collection. Also please realize the value and investment here, one car alone is valued at over $300,000! I am greatfull to my hosts for taking the time to share their wonderful toys with me and my family and some other things they had that Marie might tell you about.
on a final note, how do you end this thread?
What car could possibly be the last picture?
What is the one car that could reach across the generations?

Well SRAD pretty much nailed the car stuff but he left out the Barbie House and the Train Depot. I'll have to upload the pics so I can post them, I wondered why he was up so late last night!

I would guess that whats posted above is maybe 25% of the total cars! There is also a complete Train Station and two Cabooses(SP?) and some of the coolest biggest Train Sets I have ever seen. The Barbie house has pretty much every single Barbie sold since 1989! I'll try to get those pics posted Sunday night when we get home. OH and while it's on my mind the yellow 69 Camaro belonged to a guy named Dickie Harrell. SRAD showed me a ton of memrobilia about him and pics etc etc I guess he drove FunnyCars also and lots of Nova's.

I wonder if this guy would consider hosting a Pie Run for a select number of guests? Maybe do a raffle (contributions to his favorite charity) and draw names for those that can attend.
