I would like to take this time to invite folks out to ride/work the next Family Enduro held by the Trail Riders of Houston on June 26th 2005.
If you want to ride/race, it requires membership to TRH which is $40 a year, but if you sign up with TRH at the race, you get entrance to the race for free. To race/ride you also must pay the $5 entrance permit to the national forest at the gate, and you must have a silencer/spark arrester on your bike as well as a helmet on your head.
Signing up for the race entitles you to lunch which is usually very plentiful and drinks. There is a trophy presentation after the race.
If you just want to help out and see what its all about, then you can come out and work a checkpoint or some other part. We always need help putting these things on, everyone that helps is a volunteer. Without volunteers these events wouldnt happen.
To ride or work you want to get to the east side trail head fairly early. Signup starts at 8am, riders meeting is at 9am, and key time for the first row of riders is at 10am.
This is really fun!!! You DO want to bring a camel back with water, or at least a backpack with some water to drink on the trail if you are racing or even if you are working the event.
The morning loop of the race is a slower paced run and usually takes about an hour to complete. After the morning loop, lunch is available at the trail head. Racers have 1 hour for lunch and then self start the second loop.

If you come out and work the event, you dont have to have a motorcycle to get to the checkpoints... we will get you out there one way or another  . Working the event will allow you to get some lunch etc.
If anyone has any questions, there are many contacts on the bottom of the flyer above.
I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.
Come ride and or work the event if you dont have anything planned. :)
