I don't know how many of you will find this useful, but if you are looking for a quick LAT/LON to associate with an address this is a handy dandy little online tool. (http://stevemorse.org/jcal/latlon.php)

Cheers,
Pete

Sweet! I have been looking for something like this for a while. Pretty helpful when you have outdated maps on your GPS, you can plug in the coordenates when the address is not found on the unit.

Site bookmarked!

I'd been manually digging this information out of Google maps, it's great that this fellow took the time to automate the process. Thanks for a very useful link!

Awesome link. Don't know how useful it'd be to me, but it's definitely cool!

Excellent.

I hope his next update includes ability to find lat/long of targets such as "best microbrew in Texas" etc. :sun:

Interesting. I put in my home address since I have a Garmin WGS84 waypoint for it.

google and usc are similar. The map/satellite puts the pointer right on my house (you can see the trampoline in the backyard). These are slightly different but are very close to the Garmin waypoint.

However, yahoo and geocoder put the marker at the other end of my block and are obviously in error - probably 500 feet off.

:ponder: I wonder which ones I'll trust to use when I need to find someplace. ;-)

Come on, Chuck. We know you have the GPS out of a missle nosecone on your bike. I'll bet your target accuracy is better than most . . .
