The last three days they have been doing nightly road construction, on the bridges on North loop I820 west of 35W. The contractor is not sweeping or removing any of the gravel before leaving at 6:00-6:30 AM. Their was a Biker down on one of these bridges this morning (Meacham area), bike and rider were up against the concrete wall on the left side, there was already three pickups stopped helping him out and had the left lane blocked for him while waiting for the ambulance. Didn't see it happen I was just caught in the jam, but I speculate the gravel had something to do with it. Remember it's still dark, your tooling along at 60+ MPH on a freeway in light traffic, then the next thing you know you are on a gravel road. The first morning Tuesday it caught me by surprise I slid around a little bit while trying to dodge rocks, got hit twice in the shoulder and knee, with rocks the size of golf balls :eek2: luckily I had my armor on! Now that I know its there I can just back wayyy off and ride slow thru there. It's not a problem in the afternoon. Actually it's probably not a problem after about 8:00 AM. Personally I think the Biker whoever it was should be able to sue the *** contractor for damages. Put me on the jury!
