ALL GIRL'S RIDE:::OK, girlies, let's get it together then. The boyz seems to be having all the fun meeting at the "Y", wading through the river, and smoking their ceegars, so I think it's time we had a little girlish adventure of our own. But not in the dirt. This time, anyway.

Whomever wants to join us is welcome so long as you are of the female variety.

RESERVATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE, THEY ARE EXPECTING US!!

Las Fuentes Mexican Restaurant, 658 S. Jefferson St, LaGrange, TX

S. Jefferson St. is also Hwy 77. LaGrange is near Bastrop State Park for camping. LaGrange, Fayetteville, Smithville, Round Top, and Bastrop all have B&Bs close by for overnight stays as well, if you're interested.

The Painted Churches are close by and the Willow Springs Bridge and Piano Bridge are close as well. The Kreische Brewery State Historical Site is just up the road past the GORILLA (yes, a gorilla). No brews at the brewery, but some beautiful views.

Places to go??

Canyon of the Eagles, Burnet, TX - camping and motel accommodations on Lake Buchanan. great heated pool. The bald eagles start to nest in November on the upper Colorado and you can sometimes see them.

Painted Churches Tour in Fayette & Lavaca Counties, Bastrop SP is near here as well as many B&B. 2nd weekend of the month Fayetteville has Bluegrass Jam on the square.

I'm up for a ride. It would probably be better for me to do a day trip, but I'm not completely against staying the night somewhere.

I am going to the Hill Country on Oct. 23-26 so that weekend would be out for me.

I don't think many schools have October 12th off- mine doesn't anyway. I can usually plan around any weekend, so whatever the majority wants would probably be good for me.

October seems to be filling up quickly for me but November looks more open as of now. A day rider might be better for me but I'm not opposed to overnight either. Definitely don't yet have the storage right now on my bike for a tent and accessories though so camping might take a little more planning.

Good pick. Lets hope for good "autumn" weather. We do have the kids that weekend, so I have between now and then to get Ashley ready for the ride so she can be the youngest "biker chick" in attendance. So far the longest ride has been 35 miles each way (Bellville) and La Grange would be closer to 80 each way. She'd love it knowing it was ladies only, though. ;-)

Ladies: I posted a noon meeting time for lunch but that can be moved. I am going over there this weekend (if the weather holds) to talk with them about our luncheon. I'll see what they recommend about (s)eating times.

I sure don't want anyone to have to ride in the dark either way. Daylight savings time ends November 1 so I think we'll have a little more light in the morning but getting dark earlier.

I'll report what I find out at the restaurant this weekend. I hope I get to go, I'm hungry for that chunky guacamole!! :eat:

Ok, I've got headsets for the kids due to arrive tomorrow. I will feel better with Ashley hooked into the Starcom so we can talk along the way.

If the weather is decent, I will try a "trial run" with her this weekend to see how far she can go before getting too bored/fidgety on the back. If we can make it all the way, we'll get to La Grange and try out Las Fuentes and report back.

On my way back on 71 I found my camelback. The bladder was hanging on by the tube, it split so I have to get a new bladder
