IMPORTANT NOTES:

1. Lunch time will vary, however it will take place around 12:30PM. This depends on event dynamics. This is to be able to maximize your riding time. You will receive a serving of burgers, hot dogs, coleslaw, potato salad, and other side dishes. Water and gatorade are provided at each event free of charge as well, and to all those who show up.

2. Parade laps riders must be present at the track at 10:30am.
Due to unpredictable nature of track logistics, parade laps can occur any time between 11:00am and 12:30pm. To ensure you get the chance to ride the track, please be on time, and wear the appropriate gear (separate parade laps thread explains all gear requirements).
Great chance to get to see what track riding is all about.

3. Every participant should make sure to bring their registration confirmation (email printout), which includes their order # and other registration information. We may request to see it to clarify information, and it will also help to make the check in process smoother for everyone.

4. Each participant is encouraged to print out their rider check in forms. Links to the forms are attached in your confirmation email.
Printing and filling out these forms will make your check in process much quicker, giving you extra time for other preparation work, or rest.

Thank you for your support in making this a smooth process for everyone. If you have questions, please feel free to pm us.

I'll be there with the wifey riding two-up in L2. Our local riding club (FWMR) should have a pretty decent turnout, probably 10 or 12 people. Looking forward to it! :rider:

Holy crap.. I had a good day, but A LOT of people did not. I have never seen so many red flags.

I heard after the event there were 28 crashes !
It was slick as owl snot before noon.
One broken collar bone, the rest were minimal injuries.

There had been so much rain the track was oozing water up thru the asphalt in many places.
After noon the race line dried out & gave acceptable grip.
(except the entry of T5 and exit T6 - had to modify the race line a bit)
Was good practice for consistently riding the same line, braking, & acceleration.
If you got off the line you got a quick trip into the mud.

They limited passing in L2 to the straights before noon.
A few did not observe the rule.
Dave actually asked the people that were not following rule to leave.
He did not want those few rule breakers to hurt other riders.
Said Ride SMart did not want their business if they were going to ride irresponsibly & crash or cause others to crash !
If it happened again he would Black Flag the offending rider and send them home !

There were a lot of crashes in turn 8 and near turn 9 (mud sucked in a lot of people)..

But 28.. holy crap!

Yeah, the amount of people who crashed out was pretty ridiculous. The track never really heated up and dried out, and while there was a "good" line that kept you off of the worst of it, if you even got a little ways off of that, you were screwed. The wet spot right in the line of the T8 exit and the sealer near the apex of T9 were both super slippery. Had a guy go down on that T8 wet spot right in front of us during the last lap of the last session... crappy to have survived the whole day and then crash out at the very end.

Despite the poor track conditions, Vic and I still had a good time out there. Figured out what spots to avoid during the round robin, and spend the rest of the day dodging those. During the later sessions my group of L2 buddies started riding together more and we had some fun playing cat-and-mouse around the track. It wasn't the best trackday ever, but it still managed to be fun.

Thanks to Ridesmart for purchasing an extra hour of tracktime so we could get a few more sessions in. All the crashes really took alot of time away from the riding, and it was nice to be able to get another session in at the end. Also thanks to the cornerworkers, track marshal, and volunteers who had to deal with all those wrecks and pulling bikes out of the mud. It was more excitement then you guys signed up for, but great job getting the wrecks back to the pits and getting us riders back out on track.

See you guys out there next season!
