Does anyone know of any Track/Riding Schools in the Houston Area and, if so, do you have an opinion of them.

:tab Ridesmart and Lone Star Trackdays both do classes out at Texas World Speedway just North of Navasota on Highway 6. I've never taken a Ridesmart class. I have done two of the Lone Star and was very happy with them.

Lone Star Trackdays

Ride Smart

I rode with both of them.
They are both good.
Ride Smart comes with classes and a little more strict about safety issues.
Lone Star Trackdays comes without classes($35.00 extra for the class) and a little more practical about running the track day. That's just my opinion.
But I'll try both and find out which fits better.
This will help you to get ready for a track day.

Hi ya....His name is Guy. He also teaches (B.S. in aircraft maintenance), so he has an excellent knowledge of mechanics too. I've read some of the remarks from other students and they give him rave reviews. He has raced for many years and enjoys teaching and still rides the laps. He has a strong Chicago accent, so listen closely. I believe he has worked with RideSmart about four yrs.

Hey Mary! Had not seen a post from you in a while and was wondering how you were doing. Did you ever get settled into the new job enough to get a bike? Or are you still looking?

Hi ya, Tourmeister! Same job...worked MANY hours until Sep. My boyfriend also rides off road too and is challenging me to learning this. Why not? He has access to the bike I'd use and he wants to find off rode gear for me. Since he is a RideSmart instructor, I should be getting good instruction:clap: I figure that if I can help him "tape up" the lights, etc. on his bike for his classes, he might be kind enough to teach me a little about riding;-)

Since he is a RideSmart instructor...

Ok, I don't remember anyone named Guy in the Level 1 classroom today. Was he there or am I just forgetting names?

He passed on the instructing this weekend due to last minute commitments. On the RideSmart website, he has good reviews from past students. He normally takes his bike (CBR1000RR) to the tracks on instructing days. Hope you enjoyed the Level I class nevertheless. Way to go Squeaky:clap:
