Hi all, let me start of by saying this forum is a wealth of knowlage when it comes to the Bandit, im really glad I found it . I have a '08 Bandit 1250 and am thinking about a slip on. Only Performance mods at the moment are K&N filter, air box holes and Gi-Pro with TRE. Im leaning for the Yoshi RS3 or the R77 but would like more info from fellow riders that have slip ons and have there 2 cents to add. Im not looking for a loud pipe, but a deep throaty sound. I want to here the pipe when i choose to hear it. Also i'm having a hard time finding info on clearance issues with the factory GIVI side cases. So in your opinion whats the best pipe for the money as far as performance, looks and sound. Thanks.

I have an 08 with a GiPro TRS, BNC Air filter and a Yoshi TRS. Nice sound and it goes like the proverbial. The TRS has a removable baffle and isn't too loud, even when it's out. Not sure about Givi clearance, but it doesn't seem to go higher than the standard pipe. I like the setup.

The TRS is the same slip on as the RS3 but triangular rite?

I went with Dale's slip on, but he had to develop a mid-pipe to clear the Givi Bags. Go to his website and look at the 1250 with and without Givi bags to get an idea of clearance issues.

Without mid-pipe:

I was looing at Dale`s slip on also but i find that its expensive in comparison with the Yoshi`s or even Two Bros. Plus im in Canada so by the time I order Dale`s pipe, transfer funds, pay shipping and border duty, i can almosty get a complete system. Does his pipe need to be repacked ? I do like the look and sound of it, but keep going back to is it that much better then the others for almost $100 more? I've been toying with this exhasut thing for almost 8 months lol and havn't been able to pick one yet. Ran into same problem when picking a windscreen that works for me, tried 3 screens and was disapointed with all of then till i found the MRA Touring, works like a charm.

So before i go spend the cash and time buying exhausts that work for me i thought i would try a diffrent aproach and ask those who have it and get the pro's and con's of there slip ons.
This is the pipe i had in mind, has Yoshi fixed there rusty springs problem yet?

On another note does anybody know were i can find a good set of engine gaurds or frame sliders that will work with the factory lower fairing?

The Yoshi TRS is the triangular pipe, unlike the RS3, which is round.m I haven't seen the RS3 on a Bandit, so don't know what it sounds like

I have a RS3 on my Bandit it has a deep throaty sound. If you keep the RPM's down it not too loud but open her up and it sounds great. I don't have a db killer or bags so I can't comment on that. BTW the RS3 is oval not round.

I have a 2009 Bandit 1250 with a Yoshimura R-77 slip-on in carbon fiber. For me, the sound is perfect. At idle and low RPMs, it puts out an ear-pleasing, throaty growl. It's not loud enough to make the neighbors angry, but it sounds like a motorcycle should. At WOT, it gets considerably louder and deeper, but always ear-pleasing. The carbon fiber complements the looks of the Bandit very nicely and the weight savings from the OEM original is quite considerable. Yoshimura workmanship is top-notch and installation is easy.

Yoshimura makes a quality muffler, no doubt about that, but I'm not too crazy about the BIG badge on the side of their cans. The Carbon Fiber is kinda sexy looking, but the triangular can just doesn't agree with my sense of aesthetics. I think bang fer yer bucks can be found anywhere in their line-up; depends on how much you wanna spend and what ya like.

Two Brothers used to have the reputation that D&D currently has. It was once known as "cheap" and 'LOUD'..... Apparently they have advanced past that bad reputation and is now known more as a "value" than simply cheap.

Dale Walker's Holeshot muffler is available in a few configurations. You can choose between short, long, high mount, low mount to clear hard bags, black, polished, and my favorite.... with badge or not! He also offers a "street" version that is pleasing to the ear around town, but flows nicely and barks a beautiful tone when wound out; I had one on my FZ1 and never received more compliments about my muffler than when I had my black unbadged 17" -street- Holeshot.... I loved it. In addition, he now offers a "DB Killer" that inserts nicely into the end of his mufflers to quiet them down, looks almost like 'Dunstal' of yesteryear; removes easily for those high speed rides out in the country where there is nobody to offend.

My choice went with the MIVV X-Cone from France. I bought it from PJ's Parts at a discounted price. Drill the rivet out to remove the DB killer and you have the biggest exhaust outlet mouth on the market. The muffler is conical, cool looking and unique, sounds good, and if you don't modify the DB Killer it can be as quiet as the factory OEM muffler. I run mine with a custom header system sans CAT' and Stage II; it barks.... but if I'm easy on the throttle, our 1255cc's is deceptively quiet around town. Though LOUD when I wind it out, I would have thought that it would be MUCH louder than it is; I can cruise quietly or bring attention to myself when I feel the need to be stared at (my mom didn't give me the kind of attention I needed/wanted when I grew up, so sometimes I like loud stereos and/or loud exhausts).

I'm not unhappy with my MIVV X-Cone, but if I didn't alreay have a Holeshot in my recent past (I always wanna try some'n different), I would have been perfectly happy with the louder 17" black (unbadged) Holeshot, and pay another $35.00 for the DB Killer so I could have the option of going quiet (or not).

Bottom line, if you purchase looking ONLY to save money.... you will be doing yourself a diservice and may regret your decision down the line. Buy what keeps tugging at your heart strings; our motorcycle habit is emotional, NOT an attempt to save money.....

I super lucked out at Ebay and got my Yosh slip on can for 150 delivered to da door. the Tri angle one. Bought a DB buster for 35 something bucks and didn't secure it good enuff and lost it in Colorado last August. Built my own DB buster and have it secured now.
Didn't buy it for a performance stand point but as more that I didn't like the big stock muffler.

Great job Bandito. My SW rack is now well hidden with an alu plate on top of it and the Coocase hiding everything. Had to put a plate on to get the case back where I wanted it.
