I don't buy the zines anymore, don't keep up with what's new. I don't have the money to buy anything, so why should I care? I haven't been in this forum for a while, either, just argue politics and talk about guns and hunting in off topic. I really just jump on the bike to go some where, don't really care anymore.
So, anyway, I need to change the oil on the SV, stopped in at El Campo Cycles (Suzuki, Honda, Polaris) for an oil filter and also went to the gun store next door just to brows. That's a dangerous thing for a man with a credit card in his wallet, but I didn't buy anything, controlled myself. But, on the way out of the shop with my oil filter, I see this....this....this THING. There was a sales guy standing next to it. I says, "What the .... is THAT?" It had floore boards, no shifter, pull back bars, and a friggin' SPORT fairing! Was a V Twin, looked a bit like a Shadow engine what I could see of it, and he says it's got this 3 speed automatic tranny with switches for controlling it. Sounded complicated, like it might have way too much in the way of electronic controls on it. I don't see the point of the thing, tell ya the truth. What is something like that for? What's supposed to be its reason for existence? It had a kick back cruiser seating position and the fairing protected about up to your belly button. Tuck in? FORGET IT!
Well, if this is the direction motorcycles are taking now days, no thanks, I'll become a retro rider and keep my SV until it's an antique. The old Wing is already an antique and I think it's about ready to be buried. It needs some attention, put it that way. Heck, if this is what Honda is up to now days, I might just buy me that Sportster in 5 years afterall. Then, there's always the Indian Enfield.
