Appears to be a new trend... :eek2:

One of the crazier things I've seen this morning.
And let this be a warning not to try it on stock length suspension!

That was the 2009 Gladiator Games in Prague.
Why use those little girly MX bikes, real men flip Harley iron!

I was more impressed by the stock bike being flipped than the one with knobbies, aftermarket long travel suspension, etc.

The first one had become a MX bike powered by a Sportster engine

It's just a matter of time now. Every icehouse will have a fmx ramp and guys in do rags and leather vests will be flipping their 1200's. After a few beers, of course.

Nahh, here in the US, Sportsters are just girl's bikes! Ask any BigTwin owner (that doesn't know their history)...
Although I'd love to see a springer forked Softail backflip

True but the stock one didn't complete the flip, ie he fell off.
As far as the modifications on the first clip....
Here are the modifications they made:
STD Harley Street rod shockers
Tag handle bars
Strengthened triple tree
Power front forks with heavier springs and valving
Chain drive but standard swing arm
KTM front master cylinder and rear brake pedal removed
Knobby tires
Everything else was stock.
The bikes they are normally using in FX aren't exactly off the showroom floor either.

Or how about a backflip on a screaming eagle road glide, now that would impress me!
I wonder how many practice flips into a foam pit were done before it was attempted over hard ground. Impressive!
And you will never see me trying that stuff intentionally.

"Hold my beer, and watch this" comes to mind.

Am i the only one bothered by the fact that theres a giant guy in plate armor swinging a pike in the background of the second video? And I agree with Hemibee that falling off at the end doesnt count as a completed flip

He didn't fall off! He quickly ejected knowing the weak brakes would not stop him before hitting the stage.

The guy in the mirrorplate floor length jacket and mohawk doesn't disturb you?
XRs actually have pretty good brakes.
Watch closely, and I think he busts his chin on the handlebars when everything bottoms out...probably saw enough yellow and blue stars that he thought he was already stopped!

Heck, if harley put that first bike on the showroom I'd be very interested. Call it the sportster SCRAMBLER!
